Okay... election day is tomorrow, and it's time for all us to make final predictions on the record... you know, for bragging rights.
This is specifically for the Presidential race, but if you want to lock in overall and/or specific Senate and House races for "bonus points", by all means go ahead!
Popular vote: Obama seems to have a floor of 45%, and while a total of 47% would be deliciously ironic, I don't think he gets that much. Romney 53-45 (with 2% "other").
Electoral vote: This could be a complete rout, but I'll go with Romney 338-200, which happens if Romney takes NV, CO, IA, MI, PA, OH, WI, NH, and 1 EV in Maine. I think I'm on the low side, as we may see one or more additional "surprises".
House/Senate: Not going to predict any specific outcomes, but I think Obama will have negative coat-tails as much as Romney has positive ones, leading to a decisive GOP victory on the night, with a few pockets of 'rat holdouts and ticket-splitters.
Romney by 3%, 300EVs, +5 Senate, +5 House
Romney 53-47 and 330+ EV’s.
Romney wins with 308-330EV’s
House pickup 3 seats
Senate pickup 4 seats
Romney- 348 Obama-190
Senate R-53 D-47
House R-252 D-183
Election Surprise- Akin, Brown, & Mandel all win.
Romney will carry Oregon and win over 350 EVs.
Pray for America
My take is similar to yours, except not sure about Michigan. I expect Romney to take Minnesota. Possible surprises are Oregon and Connecticut. I would have said New Jersey as a possible surprise, but with Christie allowing email voting, the Democrat cemetery vote will be out in force.
If Pennsylviania is called for Romney, we can all go to bed early.
285 Romney to 253 Obama.
Pop vote 51 to 48
I predict lawsuits and riots.
I predict it will resemble 2000.
Popular: R-50 O-49
Electoral: R-275 O-263
R wins Florida, Virginia, Ohio, and Colorado
O wins Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, New Hampshire and Nevada
I’m going to go with Barone’s prediction, down to the state and the EV.
Not that I’m projecting, but what are the largest popular vote difference, and the largest EC totals in history?
Wondering just to know when a landslide is truly a landslide.
Nice to say not that we won, but we kicked ass.
The October surprise is coming on Nov. 6th I’m afraid . Voter fraud in astronomical proportions this time around . Obama in a squeaker a la Kennedy - Nixon .
Romney 52-47 and 290+ EVs.
I think we will pick up a couple of senate seats.
Free Republic shuts down completely.
My suggestion is that Jim allows ONLY an election thread, and it will only last two hours and then a new one starts up, easier for people to access all the comments and for posting.
No other thread or forum unless its emergency breaking news.
Romney 296 (This assumes R loses PA and NV and wins ME-CD2)
I’m going 305. Been calling that for ten days.
Romney takes FL and Ohio and wins in a similar fashion to Bush in 2004.
