Skip to comments.FR- will this site be accessible come election day?

FR has been very unstable the last week or so. Will it be able to sustain the heavy traffic come election day or will it crash it?
Anyone else know an alternate site just in case?
If I can’t get on FR I am going to DU to watch the collapse. It is going to be spectacular.
You might try reading the top of the main page for alternate sites.....:)
Think two girl brothel with the fleet just in.
Will you be logged in?
Been doing tracert to FR from command prompt. Interesting results. The problem is NOT FR's servers. It's the internet backbone itself. It's as if traffic to FR and other sites that have been critical of Dear Leader has been... helped. To which he added today (10/29/12):
DemUn was rather fast last I was able to check. Now isn't that a remarkable coinky-dink?
I wouldn't be surprised if the interwebs, or at least conservative sites, went down HARD mid-day Tuesday and stayed down until well after the final results are announced.
It’s been unstable for more than a week. I couldn’t get on for either of the three debates and several times before that.
I’m relying on Free Republic on Facebook now most of the time.
Update was 11/1/12...
A PHP board started & maintained by a FReeper .. *much* better than that yahoo CF, imho !
More like two years....very disappointed, given the upped quarterly fundraising quotas to get things “fixed”.
I’m registered, same screen name.
Thanks for the back-up!
Prolly see ya over there .. will check in here off/on, but won’t be holding my breath.
Do it! Do it now!
I suspect if we get a high percentage of users to do this, we will muddle through this election. I KNOW stripping my forum view way down has greatly helped page loads for me.
Let's hope. Just think about if our side doesn't win, and Obama has 4 more years come 11-7.
I doubt I will even try. Honestly. Too frustrating getting the same error messages over and over.
You’re right - DU will be the place to be on election day. I’m gonna make some yummy popcorn and some drinks, pull up a comfy chair and get ready for the show.
That left-wing dump is going to implode so hard it will register on the Richter Scale.
They'll shut it down to outsiders if it looks like Romney is wining.
They did that when Bush was beating Kerry.

Most likely they will lock the site for registered users only and go on suicide watch.
It was doing great for a day or so. Now it took 5 tries to load this thread. 3 tries to get the posting box. And we shall see how many it takes to post this reply.
It is very likely that traffic to FR is being interfered with along the way. A few things come to mind. These are purely speculative of course.
One is that there was a let up in interference so that John would stop looking for a problem. Then they could start the interference again when it is too late to do anything about it.
Another is that all connections to FR are being re-routed through some node where every communication to and from FR is being monitored live(By some government entity), and that is slowing things down. Many say that the signal is being routed through Chicago. Think about that.
They sure are sore losers. FR didn't do that when bambi won.
I just posted a note to JR after doing a traceroute. I had +20 stops to get to FR; DU took 3 stops.
I’m not sure it’s anything hinky; I think with all the server changes over the years, the DNS has gotten too many entries.
I’m no expert, but I think it’s a relatively simple fix to knock out those diversions, and FR will be blazing fast for everyone.
