Assuming the crowd being reached here on FR is voting for Romney solely for the purpose of kicking Obama out of the government, I can’t really imagine a less interesting question ~
As a Michigander who has worked in the auto industry I know that bankruptcy would have been better for the company than this bailout crap.
Traditional chapter 11 style bankruptcy would have allowed cutting out the deadwood instead of trying to save it at the expense of the whole tree. GM is in a far more precarious position today than it was before the bailout.
