Did anyone just hear the guy on Greta? (She's still doing Fox coverage of the storm.)
The guy road out the storm and told Greta "I'm on the Coast and I've got food, ice, water and my 2nd Amendment."
I don't think anybody will be looting his house tonight!
Is the fact the storm sped up the saving grace? Seems to me it moved faster towards the shore than predicted, as bad as it is, it would have been much worse if it came in slower.
I was thinking all day that it was the grace of God who allowed this hurricane to only be a category 1 storm. He could have allowed it to be much worse He is warning us to turn to Him or else.
That might be. We have relatives in northern Jersey, 15 miles outside of NY and we’ve been in touch and they said it’s still windy, but much worse earlier, and they still have power, only cable is out.
We’re in upstate NY (Syracuse area) and they keep warning us of horrible wind and rain but it’s pretty tame so far. Of course we’re used to 3-4 foot windy blizzards, so we’ll see.
I like this guy's way of planning.
Just before the election. Destruction to the 9/11 city.
That would be “rode” out the storm.....
FNC has been wall-to-wall Sandy coverage. Not at all trying to sound callous here, but if this was in FL or MS, you wouldn’t be seeing that, IMHO. It’s because this storm hit YankeeLand, their own backyard, that it garners so much air time on FNC. I find that disappointing. People in the south (I’m in NC) put up with this all the time.
I guess what they say about NY journalists truly believing that they are the center of the universe is true.
Many good story’s happen in flyover country, but since they don’t happen in New York, Chicago, or L.A, no one ever hears about them.
You’ve got a point there, Mac!
Yes, rode out the storm. Getting tired!
Trust me I know what you mean about NYC thinking it’s the center of the universe. Even those here in upstate NY know that. Where my brother lives they had a record setting snow storm last year, they were basically on their own. No mention from any national news, especially out of NYC, people were stranded, food was needed, people’s power was off with the temperature hovering around 10-15 degrees. People were injured— they took care of their own.
The floods in Tennessee a few years back didn’t get this kind of coverage, either...same for that horrible ice storm in Kentucky.
Speaking of G-d’s grace...I still have power here in Red Hampshire, while many of my neighbors do not. Usually; it is the other way around.

"Let them touch those things for once!"
Practicing for when Obama loses.
had two feet of water in our house from floods ( 13 inches of rain in a matter of hours ) in Oklahoma in the early ‘80’s. No one bailed us out, no one brought food, water. and we lost everything downstairs, and house devalued.
nothing, never, ever. We didn’t expect the government to meet our needs.
Well, then Obama may have even more dead sons.
Yeah, I was thinking if you have a home directly on the beach in NJ, you’ve probably got some money and items you want protected. I can now understand why many people didn’t leave.
In western Washington we get a pretty nasty storm every couple or few years. Last winters ice storm was so bad, it cost my golf club 50k to clean up the debris.. Took 6 weeks but now you would never notice.
Storms happen. This storm in the east only appears to be a surge issue for the most part. Well, you better expect that if you are on the ocean? Or is that too callous?
No no no.....NOT callous in the slightest. In fact, I was JUST talking about this with my girlfriend. If you are in NYC, practically ON the Atlantic coast, and so much of your infrastructure (transportation, utilities, etc.) are underground, wouldn't it behoove you to ensure that such resources are protected from flooding? Heavy storm doors going down into recesses to keep water out (subway stations, etc.)??
Guess not. Guess they figured that "no, that stuff happens to the South....not us, at least not often enough to design for it".
Stupid stupid stupid.
