That’s done using HTML. There are lots of free tutorials on the web.

Actually, it’s a very good question. I’m sure I (and other folks) will be able to benefit from reading constructive replies.

Sarcasm tag
</sarc> This is the sarcasm tag. It is not a real HTML tag. It is used to mark your witty repartee so that everyone will know you are making a funny. Type an ampersand - & then lt; then /sarc. An & and gt makes the other carat >.
This is in the sandbox

Yep, as others have posted, you have to visit the Sandbox.
It’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Welcome to FR!

With the idea that you might not be able to find “html sandbox” using FR search, here’s a post from 2008 that probably covers most of it.

If you want to post pix, you want to find in whichever storage tank you use the html prefix that starts with <a href = _____________________________

I’d like to add a question if you don’t mind.
Is there a way to return to a thread later and go right to where you stopped reading before? Some of the fast growing threads get me lost when I open them again.

As the others have mentioned, check out the HTML sandbox. It is a great place to play and practice all those cool tricks you see around here. I posted here for
years before I tried out HTML. I don't know why I waited so long!

It’s HTML code. You have to do it yourself.
Try WebMonkey. Nice little site for basic learning and a cheat sheet.

I’ve had good luck with Photobucket.
I haven’t had as good luck avoiding sarcasm. I had to be a “pancake bunny” and a DU troll and a weirdo from Daily Kos for awhile; but that which does not kill you makes you stronger, to quote a Godless nihilist.
Bouncing off the walls here is part of the fun. Sarcasm is the oil that lubricates this place much of the time!
Welcome!
