Barack Obama RIPPED By Bayonet Co. "We're Still Relevant!!!"
tmz.com ^ | 10/23/12

President Barack Obama has offended the bayonet community ... TMZ has learned.

TMZ spoke with multiple people in the bayonet industry who tell us they were shocked and even offended when Obama brought up the weapon during last night's debate.

FYI -- Obama was going after Romney when he said, "You mentioned the Navy, for example, and that we have fewer ships than we did in 1916. Well, Governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets, because the nature of our military's changed."

According to the official U.S. Marine Corps website, every Marine is STILL required to complete a bayonet training program ... because "the weapon becomes just as effective [as a rifle] in close combat situations."

We spoke with Dan Riker from Bayonet Inc. -- a leading military surplus outlet that specializes in bayonets -- who tells us he believes Obama's comment was "ignorant ... because our soldiers still use bayonets."

He adds, “[Bayonets] are still distributed to the military all the time -- he should get educated on it”

For the record, Riker says he won't be voting for Obama ... "and I didn't vote for him last election either."

I think Obama’s a tool for that but his point is still valid. Romney is using a date that reflects a VERY different time of war strategy with our fleet. I agree, though, that Obama showed his own cluelessness but the lazy voter will see Obama’s point more than Romney’s in that sound bite. Remember, our culture is all about soundbites and Obama bit him on that one for the shallow voter.

The Spirit of the Bayonet is to KILL! Obama’s spirit of the military involves homo erotic fantasies. Long live the BAYONET!

I also understand that our troops use horses in some remote areas of Afghanistan.

To be fair to Romney he mentioned a specific number of aircraft that was requested and he compared it to the number we had. He was making a broader point that the military is weaker just as Obama was making a broader point that the military was more modern (they weren’t really addressing each others points)

First, VA has been lost to Obozo for awhile now...”corpsman” helped as well as a war on coal, sequestration, cuts in supporting vets and the defense industry, obamacare, etc.
Secondly, Obozo made this mistake while being an a**wipe answering Rombo, talking down, being pedantic and a smug bastard...which was an utter failure because he still had NO idea what he was talking about.
“Ships that go under the water”... Holy crap, man.

The good news is that there are no shallow undecided voters to win or lose. The shallows are already committed to Obama.

...Governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets...

I'm so damn glad my Son-in-Law wasn't watching the debate last night and heard Obama say that idiotic statement. He was in the Old Guard, and participated in many a funeral at Arlington National Cemetery...

He would have put a fist through the TV.

Horses and mules and not only in Afghanistan, but Obama is the smartest guy in the room, so those must not count.

There’s a Brit who led a bayonet charge in Afghanistan about to receive their highest award (a day or two ago, on FR)

BAYONET TRAINING (See Sidebar)

Charge with lethal precision
A bayonet is a removable fighting knife that attaches to the muzzle of a rifle barrel. In close combat situations where a rifle cannot be fired, the bayonet is an indispensible, lethal weapon. Learning how to effectively use a bayonet is an important part of Marine Corps training.

On the bayonet assault course, recruits learn to attach and detach the bayonet from the rifle quickly and to engage targets aggressively. They become masters of offensive and defensive fighting techniques.
