Hmmm, the reported purpose of the no-knock raid was because they expected a meth lab was in the house? So naturally they fired off explosives as part of their assault process. Imagine the burns sustained if there WAS a meth lab. Kaboom!

They need to be held back a grade.

Besides all the obvious issues you don’t “flashbang” a meth lab - or it will likely explode.

How long does it take to fasten a flash-bang to the hand-cuffed police officer’s genitals and pull the pin? I am enraged that this could happen in America.

Well I'm satisfied it was a justifiable use of force!

There's a drug head living at 1600 Penn Ave DC!

Get em boyz!

My bad, it's only for little peoples addresses! Let's go house to house, and get all the Jews and Christians too while we're at it!

Toss a grenade into a cop shop or an officer’s residence and try the “It was totally unforeseen, totally unplanned and extremely regrettable,” defense.

Little tin gods.

"It was totally unforeseen, totally unplanned and extremely regrettable," St. John said. "We certainly did not want a juvenile, or anyone else for that matter, to get injured."

Bullshit.

Yes way too many of these incidents

One of these days these LEOs will truly pick the wrong house...and they will pick a house where the people shoot and never miss. When a bunch of LEOs are body bagged with bullets in the brains after a botched raid....rhen maybe they will understand.

St. John said investigators did plenty of homework on the residence before deciding to launch the raid but didn't know children were inside.

Why didn't they have the house in question under surveillance? Surely had they done so, they would have known children were present. And, if they could insert a flash bang grenade into the window, why not a video camera to see what's in the room? Why was the pig with the grenade not properly trained in its' use?

Some serious incompetence here....in fact I'd call it dereliction of duty. Hope the kid gets a serious paycheck out of this. Too bad the taxpayers are going to take it in the shorts again...especially given that the pigs involved will suffer no consequences.

[Police Chief] St. John said investigators did plenty of homework on the residence before deciding to launch the raid but didn't know children were inside.

This is the height of chutzpah, right here, ladies and gentlemen. Let's review:

1) The police thought there was a meth lab in the house - there wasn't.
2) The police thought there were no juveniles in the house - there were.
3) The police thought there was a meth lab in the house AND STILL USED MULTIPLE FLASH BANG GRENADES BEFORE ENTERING.
4) No arrests were made or charges filed, despite the fact that the police thought that a serious enough crime was being committed to warrant a middle-of-the-night no-knock military assault on the house..

And yet, ladies and gentlemen, the POLICE CHIEF, himself, went on record and said "Hey we did our homework!"

These cops belong in jail.

"A simple knock on the door and I would've let them in," she said. "They said their intel told them there was a meth lab at our house. If they would've checked, they would've known there's not."

She and her two daughters and her husband were home at the time of the raid. She said her husband, who suffers from congenital heart disease and liver failure, told officers he would open the front door as the raid began and was opening it as they knocked it down.

Meanwhile down the street a gang of youths was assaulting pedestrians and the mayor was telling the press that budgets were tight and he couldn't afford any more cops to answer citizen complaints.

"The warrant was based on some hard evidence and everything we knew at the time."

So if they had hard evidence and all that evidence pointed to the necessity of a swat raid, why did it turn out they raided the wrong residence. They couldn't even determine that juveniles lived there let alone that there was no meth lab. This swat sh** has to stop, we need some new laws to reign in out LEOs.

I'm in Afghanistan right now. It's my 2d trip here.

Whenever an Afghan civilian is wounded or killed by Coalition Forces, everything stops. It's a big deal. The news reaches General Officer level very quickly. Maybe even to the White House.

When an American cop or SWAT team wounds or kills Americans in their American homes in the middle of the night? Meh, no big deal.

I've stated before that the US military has stricter Rules of Engagement for the Taliban than cops have for American civilians.

St. John said investigators did plenty of homework on the residence before deciding to launch the raid but didn't know children were inside.

So these idiots couldn't even know if children were in the home, but were certain that there were drugs and they needed to send in a paramilitery strike force to surprise a man with heart disease?

They should not only all be fired, but held personally responsible and arrested. Taxpayers should not have to keep footing the bill for this utter stupidity.

Ugh... How the hell could you investigate a meth lab in a residence and NOT figure out there are kids there?

I smell ass covering going on...
