Some things are odd about the Hendrix story.

If Hendrix volunteered as a paratrooper and endured the training, then he had something going on, and at one point was very dedicated to serving, the other is that I see things saying that he was a PFC, which would be normal rank for his time in service.

I would like to see his DD 214, and learn if the gung-ho parts were accurate, and if he just decided he wanted out to pursue music, and that he was smart enough to pull it off with a discharge under honorable conditions, which would be pretty good for 14 months.

Considering what was happening during the time frame he made his choice to enter the service “instead”, a lot of guys would have preferred prison.

A vet is a vet, to me.
