Just had to share this moving article about a legend in female bass angling. She inspired so many female anglers, including me.

It certainly is a small world. I have a four pound crappie mounted on my wall that I caught in Lake Oologah on 9-19-87. I went in for cataract surgery on my left eye this past July and my vision did not improve. I had a corneal transplant done two weeks ago and my vision has not improved. I am going to an Eye Institute in Oklahoma City tomorrow. I am hoping to see a Dr. House without the attitude or baggage who can help me. My great aunt was a fisherwoman and after her death I went went my grandfather to her favorite fishing hole and hooked a monster catfish that broke my line. They built a dam and that spot is under 80 feet of water and I never went back.

What a great story......it brings back memories of the times my grandfather used to take me out fishing in his boat on Lake Charlevoix in northern Michigan. I can still remember the musty smells of the boathouse where he kept his boat, the spider webs, the darnkess, the clunk clunk noise our shoes made on the wooden dock and the nickname he used to call me: Firm Tartub....
But I don't remember ever catching any fish..........LOL!
