I got these Thursday after a doctor's appointment. Not much time, just one pass along the water and I had to head back to catch the bus.
The Roseate Spoonbills with white feathered heads are the young birds, breeding age birds develope the bronze helmet look.

Beautiful pictures as usual. One of these was spotted and photographed by a local birder here (Glendale, Arizona) in what is a rare appearance in these parts.

He does that all the time. He lives somewhere where he can do that.
He's also very clueful on cameras and such, should you ever have a question.
Wasn't long ago, I believe he had eye surgery and said he could see better.
A week before he had posted photos that would do proud in Natl Geo. He takes better pictures before eye surgery than I can see in normal life.
All freepers have their place. Swampy needs to be behind a camera. He's damn good at that.

Excellent shots as usual, SWAMPSNIPER. I envy you living close to those birds.
For the benefit of those not familiar with roseate spoonbills, here is a picture of a pair of adult birds. You can see the brighter pink patch on the wings of the adults compared to the pale pink of the juveniles.

This is a retention pond on the campus of Flagler Hospital. Someone actually took time to do it right so it isn’t just a big puddle full of trash.
