17 Million Less Viewers Watch Ryan in 2012 than Palin in 2008

I think this verifies with some pretty substantial numbers that there just isn’t the same excitement for Paul Ryan, as there was in 2008 for Governor Palin. Via Mediabistro (emphasis):

On night two of the Republican National Convention, Fox News Channel was once again the network more people went to to get their political fix. That said, every network was down substantially from the same night in 2008, when Sarah Palin made her RNC debut…

This isn’t good. It’s going to be an uphill battle, this candidate that Mainstream Media has chosen for the Republicans. I’m worried about November, I think that everyone should BOLT and all of the opposition gather around a candidate that was chosen in a drawing of straws.

How many voters will the DNC lose at THEIR convention this year compared to last?

That’s no surprise Palin was largely unknown so there was a curiosity factor there. I taped Palin’s speech and watch it often. Also keep in mind alot of people and I mean alot of people watch this stuff over the internet now.

Half the viewers cut the networks went straight to CSPAN and Youtube.

"Less"

That's as far as I got. It's "fewer" not "less", Les!

I will never forgive the GOP for standing by and letting the MSM and demo demons eviscerate this woman publicly.

I still cannot get over it, they wouldn’t lift a finger.

How much of this is due to the networks all but ignoring the convention, giving it just an hour or less each night?

LOL.. So how did 17 million extra viewers to her speech translate in the polls?

This number means zilch.

Good question. Ask it next week and you will know. I am sure they will lose some too.

Back in 2008 I could still stomach Fox News for things like this... now I can’t. Where are the numbers for CSPAN viewers?

That is all the networks can afford to give. For example, CBS is showing Big Brother which makes huge ratings and makes tons of money for CBS. The Republican Convention and the Democratic Convention do not make a dime for the networks so this is really a very good business decision. Plus with the other channels, the Networks should probably stop showing them all together.

Would have lost that election regardless of the Bear Stearns collapse. Obama was the fresher and more appealing candidate at the top of the ticket.

Wait till the American viewers see the Jihad National Convention. It’ll give them something to ponder about.

you have to remember, Palin was an unknown and the GOP convention last year was AFTER Labor Day not BEFORE.

Numbers do mean something...until McCain f**ks up by suspending his campaign and the markets tank.

Post election bounce in 2008 was 12 pts and McCain had a 4 pt lead. When Goldman Sachs went belly up, so did the campaign.

PrePalin, crowds in the hundreds. After Palin was picked, crowds in the tens of thousands.

You can lead the crowds to you campaign but you at least have to act like you want their vote. McCain/Schmitt/Wallace didn’t realize that.

You shouldn’t be laughing, you should be pissed at McCain and his handlers.

Right before the financial mess, McCain was up by 2-3. It would of been close.

No, it means we’re streaming it online these days.

That way we don’t have to listen to jagoff reporters.
