Both are of mixed ethnic heritage. Each was born in 1961 and later got married during the same year. And D'Souza and Obama grew up around people with vibrant anti-colonial impulses.
Yet the Indian-born immigrant marvels at the unique American experiment, while Obama appears to have a remarkably different take on the countrys promise.
"2016: Obama's America," already open in select theaters but opening wider this weekend, lets D'Souza connect the president's current policies with the formative experiences of his youth. It's a thesis gussied up as a feature-length documentary, one expressed through D'Souza's quietly determined arguments.
It's rare to see unabashedly right of center films, and when they arrive they typically reveal their modest budgets in every scene.
"2016" is different.
The documentary is slickly produced, with thoughtful camera work and impressive graphics. One need not embrace D'Souza's thesis to appreciate the craft on display, or how the conservative author refuses to sling mud in grand Michael Moore fashion.
He still asks questions that demand answers. Why does Obama accumulate debt without fear? Why does he want to shrink the country's nuclear arsenal while taking no efforts to stop Iran from crafting their own weapons of mass destruction? How can Obama object to domestic oil drilling while applauding similar measures by foreign countries?
It all begins with Barack Obama Sr., the father the future president barely knew. "Notice it says 'Dreams from My Father,' not 'of My Father,'" D'Souza says of the president's famed autobiography.

I think he does hit the nail on the head when he says Obama wants to make the US less than or equal to other countries in the world. Perfect case in point is why Obama would give money to Brazil to drill for oil in Brazil when he blocks drilling in the US. Obama wants to increase the wealth of other nations and decrease the wealth of the US. Unfortunately for us, he has been extremely effective in doing this.
Go to the link and select the Theaters tab. In my area it is coming August 24th.
Nope, still no listing in MN and only one in WI.
I saw it and found it to be very well done. D’souza put the pieces of Obama’s mysterious past together to form a cohesive picture of what influenced Obama and what his worldview is. It is well worth seeing. And it will motivate you to do just a little bit more than you would have to help Romney win the election.
2016 based on Obama’s autobiography is out. He didn’t stop it from coming so maybe he wants people to see it to see what’s he’s all about.

The movie is produced by the produce of Schindler’s List and Jurassic Park, and other great movies. Above link will tell you where it’s playing. Catch the intro from the writer.
I just returned from watching the 11:30am showing of the film “2016: Obama’s America.” The theater was completely filled. If you love our once great Country, you MUST see it and bring a friend. It is Very moving an emotional. By the end, I could hear a woman behind me was whimpering. Then the eruption of loud applause. As the applause died down, an elderly gentleman stood up and began singing GOD BLESS AMMERICA... the entire audience joined in, there were many misty eyes as we filed out. YOU MUST SEE THIS IMPORTANT MOVIE.
God Help America
Just saw the movie on a Friday afternoon and it was well attended (which surprised me). A great movie!! Makes perfect sense. Obama must be defeated or American will be no more.
No one can accuse the narrator/producer of being a right-wing nut, an alarmist or anything else negative. The sub-text appears to be that obama is not a black man, but an african-american,with that heritage. The narrator,an Indian, from Mumbai, draws the parallels between his own life, in India and those of obama. The narrator went on to work for Reagan in the WH, whereas, obama, took off in a different, radical direction. The end result is scary, under obama and his plans for this Country. The narrator portrays obama as more anti-colonialist, possibly marxist or communist than peple may be aware of. From just an economic standpoint, the damage that he has, and is doing to this Country will take a long time to reverse. Even if we get Romney into the WH, four years may not be enough to fix it and don’t be surprised if swillary doesn’t use that to run in 2016. Re-elect this POS and we are screwed, but watch for yourself
Saw the movie last night in NC and I found it thoughtful and surprisingly gentle, though the conclusions it reaches are upsetting: President Barack Obama, who has never experienced colonialism, who has lived in the United States for most of his life, and all of his adult life, is violently anti-colonialist and anti-capitalist. He appears to think that the way colonial powers (like the French, Dutch, and British) and rich people become prosperous is by stealing the resources of colonized countries and the labor of poor workers. He was influenced by his dead father, a communist mentor, and various other people. He apparently is unable to objectively look around him and reach his own conclusions based on the evidence of his own experiences. And this man is our president. In his heart, he is not an American, but one of the downtrodden searching for social justice. Too bad he got elected.
Thanks for the link.
The closest the movie played was 150 miles away from me on Aug 10. Now the nearest is 45 miles away. I think that’s the closest it’s going to be. I’m going. Making a day of it.
