It’s horrible that they stay panned in on just 1 person while the rest of the field of athletes would be nice to view as well. That drives my husband nuts - he hates NBC coverage and wishes FOX would get the Olympic Games...

NBC’s cover IS horrible! I was so ticked off that they wouldn’t show the entire men’s singles medals ceremony at Wimbledon....I think it was about six hours later that they showed a brief clip of the GB anthem being played. Oh gosh! I was so disappointed! Was able to see some online, but NBC totally failed with this. Then last night, watching the gymnastics vault competition, they broke about every two minutes for three more minutes of commercials, and then when it was over, failed to show the medals ceremony, which I felt would have been most interesting in light of McKayla Maroney’s silver medal win instead of gold. OMG! What horrid coverage!

I’d like to know who at NBC is such a big fan of diving and equestrian events. If you watched NBC to figure out what the important sports were, you’d think that diving is the most important event in the entire olympics.

Bolt may be fast, I’ll grant him that, but who can stand half an hour of his annoying, clownish theatrics and posturing pre-race for less than 10 sec of race? (Followed by yet more annoying, clownish theatrics and posturing. You betcha.)

That is to say, no one who did not see this race missed anything.

I’ve looked and only found NBC sites online. What is the site you have watched it on?

On a weekday, I could understand that decision on the timing; but this was a Sunday...

A lot of folks felt that way about Muhammad Ali...he cried all the way to the bank.

Bolt sailed through the semi-finals before successfully defending his Olympic title - against a field that included three Americans - at 4.50pm EDT

I bet, MORE people would have seen it at 4:50 pm EST than actually did see it at, what?? 11:22 pm last night??

It was ridiculously late! What's the point of tape delay if you don't show it at a good time? Maybe, 9:30? 10 even??

Worst coverage ever! And I’m a woman. Hate the fluff and overtalk, the whole mess is like a bad soap opera. (Is there such a thing as a good soap opera?)

NBC has out done themselves in inane, ridiculous and just plain stupid coverage of these Olympics. Instead of covering OLYMPICS the jackasses that ran this debacle decide that a full section on BAGPIPES AND JAMES BOND are current Olympic events. The complete inattention to the actual Olympic events just prove that they are so far out of touch that they should never be allowed to cover it again.

NBC’s coverage is horrible. If only we could fool the internet into thinking we were Brits or Canadians which would allow free access to the BBC of CBC or other non-US outlets providing coverage online.

I’ve watched about one hour total. TV is a wasteland.

I watched about 5 minutes of the opening ceremony but *nothing* since.I check ESPN periodically to see the medal count. That’s it!

Me too except I did watch the entire Opening Ceremony...unfortunately. I am just not interested this year at all. I do like the Winter Olympics better...I will watch those in 2014.

Not really. The British media (particularly the Daily Mail and the Guardian) has been making a huge effort to get into the lucrative US market for their online editions for some years now (hence the Daily Mail using Americanisms like ‘mom’ instead of ‘mum’ for example). I can also assure you that the British media does not ignore controversial domestic issues concerning society and government the way the American media does for their domestic issues.
America’s mainstream media is shockingly bad considering it is supposedly operating in a free country. Britain’s tabloid media may be very sensationalist at times, but it is quite rightly feared by our elites for the sheer glee it takes in attacking them whenever the opportunity arises, which frankly, is as it should be...

Even their LIVE coverage is not Live. I just finished watching gymnastics supposedly LIVE. But I knew how a girl’s routine went before NBC showed it. As in, I went to other sites which had Tweets from the meet.

My wife is loving the coverage because she enjoys all the “back stories” and fluff.

&&&
I am a woman and I HATE that stuff. Just show me the competition.

This is the first time since the Olympics were in California that I have watched any more than 5 minutes, and that is because of the annoying coverage. The only reason we are watching this time is that we now have DVR, which vastly improves all of our TV experience.
