Twenty Republican senators are set to join with Democrats in upholding LOST. Some who are included in the list of 20 are those who have not yet decided how they will vote on the issue. Thus, the list of 20 includes those who have either declared support for LOST or declined to indicate their views on the subject one way or the other
The 20 are:
Enzi, McConnell, Hutchison, Toomey, Johanns, Ayotte, Graham, McCain, Lugar, Kirk, Snowe, Collins, Murkowski, Isakson, Grassley, Portman, Corker, Cochran, Brown, and Alexander.
One political activist stated that it is important for citizens to call the offices of all 20 to make sure those Senators are on the record with their intent to vote against the treaty. McConnell and Toomey now state they will vote no.

“Some who are included in the list of 20 are those who have not yet decided how they will vote on the issue.”
So, the headline is a lie?
The UN has been trying to sneak this through for years.
” - - - Upon the advice of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, President Obama has confirmed his intention to sign two controversial U.N. treaties — the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) and the so called “small arms” treaty.”
FYI.
FYI: When Senators use that kind of language, it means they’re hoping no one will notice so they can sneak their vote.
However, it you apply the pressure, these worms can squirm.
Two GOP senators have turned....we need to turn five more. The Dems need 14 GOP to cross over. All Dem senators will vote for this (unless we can apply pressure and make a big statement in the November elections).
Ms Ping
Just wrote to Sen Johanns. Frankly find it hard to believe he’d be in with the dems on this.
Many on the list are our “repeat offenders”. Shame on them. Just SHAME !
McQueeg. Figures.
Suprise Suprise.... The South Carolina disgrace Sen. Graham is on the list. I can’t wait to vote for someone that primaries Graham in 2014!!
Why would Toomey go along? That doesn’t make sense.
More info about it here:
http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2012/07/law-of-the-sea-treaty-bad-for-american-energy-policy
“the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), which would expose the United States to baseless environmental lawsuits, including suits based on alleged U.S. contributions to global climate change. Accession would also require the U.S. to transfer billions of dollars in oil and gas royalties generated on its continental shelf to UNCLOS member states, particularly landlocked states and states that are the least developed.
The U.S. does not need to join the convention in order to access oil and gas resources located on its extended continental shelf (ECS), the Arctic, or the Gulf of Mexico. Instead, it can and should use bilateral treaties with neighboring countries to demarcate the limits of its maritime and continental shelf boundaries.
“
YES...CALL YOUR SENATORS!!!! :)
“FYI: When Senators use that kind of language, it means theyre hoping no one will notice so they can sneak their vote.”
FYI: when you become a liar and get in the mud with the pigs, you become swine, too. The GOP is bad enough when it comes to muck; the Grand Old Potty needs to be flushed. We can do it by being honest with people. Wasn’t that the lesson of the Tea Party in 2010?
NO.
Shame on their constituents for re-electing them.
Of course the Tennessee twosome are among the guilty.
Hutchison that #$%@&$#!
She is quitting so she won’t listen and doesn’t care because she has nothing to lose.
***SCREAM***
I need that cartoon of the fella banging his head bloody on the keyboard.
ARRRGH! /pulling hair out
Well, they have to compete with the bobsie twins from Maine.
Does anyone have just a straight list of those Republicans who are yet undecided or who support LOST?
This is shaping up to be one of those votes where it will be approved, with *just* enough votes for passage, so that some senators can claim opposition to it after the fact, who supported it before.
Bottom line: LOST has long been well known, as well as the arguments against it. Those who call themselves “undecided” support it, but are too cowardly to admit it, and don’t want to take the heat.
So the message to them is clear: if they were “undecided” and LOST passes, they will be blamed for it. If LOST passes by just a vote or two, they will still be blamed for it, even if they voted against it.
No more damn games. Either they were in strong opposition to it early, or they must be regarded as supporting it, no matter how much they snivel.
Many of them are former Dems that switched parties due to demgraphics but still think like and vote like their democrat buddies.
Just sent a scortching letter to Sessions, and he is not even voting for it. I am enlisting his help to convey the seething anger that will boil over if this treaty is ratified.
I also pointed out that, if Portman votes for it and Romney makes him his running mate, Romney is toast. To me that would be an indicator that Romney is an Obama clone and I we would all be just as well off to vote for another party. And up to now, I have all intentions to hold my nose and vote for Romney. We will see how this plays out.
The name “Lugar” always shows up in these type of threads. Us right thinking Hoosiers are trying to get rid of this POS turncoat. He got primaried out here in Indiana. He is a traitor, no doubt about it.
As has been oft said before, there isn’t a dime’s worth of difference between the two parties.
Just look at what the GOP-E is trying to run for president.
“Like”
Didn't realize that the UN had seats in the Senate. The scabrous UN is what it is. Your fight is with filthy, traitorous US politicians from BOTH parties.
I suspect those who haven’t declared that they intend to oppose it aren’t likely to do so.
Let’s explain to them that LOST will be the category they are in after the next election if they vote for this POS.
Yeah, I get it.
“THAD ENOUGH?”
Yes I have.
Mississippi State Senator
Chris McDaniel
District 42 - Jones County
Republican
LOST is pretty self explanatory
TT
This was just pointed to me by a Democrat acquaintance I unfortunately know thru the internet...
It states that it was updated July 9 2012.

I have hear a little about it but I don’t know much. Is there more about this on freerepublic?
Double “like”.
I just called Sen Hutchison’s office here in Austin. They said she has not released an official position on the LOST, but is still taking comments from constituents. I laid out several of the reasons to be opposed to the treaty and was told that it would be passed along to her.
I e-mailed my relatives in Massachusetts and told them to call Senator Brown’s office and urge him to vote NO.
Thanks...keep up the good work!!!!
