Will Senator Mary Landrieu Vote to REPEAL ObamaCare?

Will Senator Mary Landrieu vote to REPEAL ObamaCare?

At first glance this sounds like a silly question because most of you will reply, "Of course she won't since she voted for it in the first place." However, now that the mandate has been relabeled as a tax by Roberts, Landrieu and the other Senators who voted for it, would now be reluctant to support the BIGGEST TAX INCREASE IN HISTORY. Their out might be that now that this is a tax increase, not a mandate, they no longer support it.

Keep in mind that the senator whose vote was bought with the infamous Louisiana Purchase faces a tough re-election fight in 2014. Other senators, such as Jon Tester of Montana face a tough re-election fight this year and have the burden of defending their vote for the BIGGEST TAX INCREASE IN HISTORY.

Joe Manchin is another one who comes to mind as possibly being forced to vote for ObamaCare repeal.

What other Democrat senators do you think might be forced to vote for repeal in order to save their political hides?

The Biggest Tax Increase in the World’s History Paid By Every American: Hang that albatross around the neck of every Democrat running in the South or West.

Harry Reid will not allow a repeal to come up for a vote. I am not sure if McConnell can do anything to force Reid’s hand given the byzantine rules that govern the Senate.

Hee! Hee! The ObamaCare repeal vote will FORCE the Democrats to vote against a measure that would REPEAL the BIGGEST TAX INCREASE IN HISTORY.

How many of them will now claim that they must repeal it because they really voted for a mandate, not a tax increase?

I suspect that we won’t really see any action on it till after the election. That will take some shaky democrats out of play but I believe we’re going to make big gains in the senate.

Remarked to wife yesterday, most dem congress critters did not seem particularly happy and very few (except the usual lefty wingnuts in bullet proof districts and states) were embracing ownership of it.

If the democrats lose their Senate majority this year, then the remaining Democrats like Landrieu will be faced with the repeal vote in January.

Also each and every Democrat should be asked their position on ObamaCare repeal: "Senator Bill Nelson, do you favor repealing the BIGGEST TAX INCREASE IN HISTORY?"

Dems are not that popular in LA right now from what I’ve seen. The big races (like the one against Vitter a year or so ago) are going very badly for them. Ditto the governor’s race where Jindal was re-elected (despite some very tough and unpopular budgetary decisions he’s made). Landrieu is no longer a “shoe in” for re-election and if she seeks it she’s going to have a serious uphill battle trying to explain how she’s in the tank for the “largest tax increase in history” during a time of great economic difficulties. Should get interesting.

This is a very good question. Many will say that Reid won’t even bring it to a vote. Calling it what it is, a tax increase, changes the political paradigm. I believe there may even be pressure to bring it to the floor from the Democrat side, it’s the only way to get this booger off their finger.

I’m not so sure there aren’t other Dem Senators that may read the tea leaves and vote against it this time, now that it’s exposed as a tax, and now that the states cannot be coerced into putting the poor on Medicaid.

Mark Warner comes to mind, and Jim Webb isn’t running again, would he want to vote for this massive tax increase again?

House Democrats won't be able to avoid declaring their vote on the BIGGEST TAX INCREASE IN HISTORY but EVERY Senator should be asked their stand on this. Best to record the latter for YouTube if you meet your Senators in person.

Quite right. I thought the question was referring to a before Nov vote like the House will have on July 9.

And every candidate should face the same questions.

An oatmeal cookie to the first Missourian who asks McCaskill the question I posed above and uploads her reply to YouTube. This includes YOU, Charles.

That's it! It really doesn't have to come up for a vote. Senators who are up for reelection will be hit with this question every where they go.

Someone said yesterday that the ‘Louisiana Purchase’ blood money for her Obamacare vote didn’t come through for LA - negotiated away in some other bill or some such thing. Do you know?

The bigger question is “What’s in it for Mary”. Her vote had to be bought. It will be interesting to see if Proud Mary has any new campaign commercials this year. Can’t wait to see the N’awlins dockworkers tell me how “Mary saved our jobs”

Actually it WILL come up for a vote in January if the Democrats lose 4 Senate seats (3 seats if the Bamster loses).
