thank you so much
My wife has a number of medical problems and when we are in a social gathering she sometimes tends to monopolize the discussion with a litany of symptoms and failed treatments. You can almost see people drifting away from the group when it becomes such a monologue, even though they are sympathetic.
I've had to gently remind her a few times to let others be part of the conversation too.....
Everything isn’t for everybody. You’ve been in a bad situation so you have tunnel vision. My uncle has alzheimers and while his care is a major part of my life I realize that nobody outside of the doctor, nurses and my mother want to hear about it. We had to get a stool sample from him last week. The story of how we did it is rather funny in a dark heck-we-got-to-laugh-or-we’ll-break-down-crying sort of way but I wouldn’t tell anybody because complete strangers and aquaintances would be grossed out and rightly so.
why are people so weird and offended by things like this ?
