Fahrenheit 451 Firemen?
Over a period of years, and despite the union’s abridgement of constitutional right to speak freely, John Darmanin has been exemplary. He volunteered his testimony before the Civil Grand Jury, and has helped to open public eyes to the dangerous practice of drinking and drug use on the job which has so much been in the news lately. He told the Grand Jury that drinking on the job was “frequent, open, and notorious”.
After SFFD firefighter Mindy Ohler was killed in a fall from an engine, Darmanin gave an interview to KRON 4 News about safety “deficiencies”. A few hours after the broadcast his car was firebombed.
Unionistas. Drinking and Drugging on the job. Arson.
One party political town. Democrats.

A lot of what Bradbury wrote had philosophical implications for his times, but need review and to be “updated” as it were, to a “sense of modernity”. Yet the lessons remain.
As someone pointed out about George Orwell’s, “Nineteen Eighty-Four”, by the year 1984, all the government oppression and surveillance technology existed and *could* have been used, and after a fashion, *had* been used. But the emotional and intellectual horror of that time has continued, and become *worse*.
Practically speaking, how different is Ingsoc from the current Labour Party in England? If anything, it is worse, establishing national DNA databases and ID cards, getting rid of “The rights of freeborn Englishmen”, going all the way back to the Magna Carta, hiring hundreds of thousands of drones for meaningless government jobs, putting surveillance cameras all over the place. And in exchange for what?
They (and the US for that matter), have *always* been at war with Eastasia. At least the Iraq and Afghanistan parts of it. (Orwell certainly got the “death worship” part of Islamic Eastasia down pat.)
But this is Orwell. What about Bradbury?
Fahrenheit 451 is like this in many ways. But books are not being burned as much as being phased out. After all the publishers and independent booksellers were bought up by the media oligopoly, who now much prefer to publish what could be called “crapola”, instead of literature, readers have been enticed away by television (as in 451), but by the Internet and other media, passive and interactive.
It’s even more effective than burning books. Making them appear to be obsolescent, even distorting our brains so we no longer have the attention span to read a book, much less learn from it.
The end result is like what happened to The Time Traveler when he went to the library of the Eloi in The Time Machine, only to find that their books had all turned to dust, after being ignored for a vast length of time. Instead, at least in the movie, they had the talking rings, though they had nothing of great moment to say, most of the rings probably being devoted to celebrity gossip.
But, in the final analysis, burning books with kerosene would not be very green, now would it? It’s just easier for the Democrat Morlocks to just keep mucking up the public schools.
