KPTQ had been a progressive talk station going back to the Air America days, and continued even after they went belly-up. Today, listeners in Spokane apparently have a new classic country outlet in its place.
"In 5 years we'll have 600 stations"--Air America's Jon Sinton, 2004.
The progressive talk juggernaut continues :)

According to a cached version of their site via yahoo search, the station had run Stephanie Miller, Ed Schultz,
Thom Hartmann, etc. The current site has a box saying, “Looking for Progressive talk?” and offers links to other stations which still have liberal talk.
KPTQ is owned by Clear Channel, whose Premiere division
syndicates Rush, Hannity, etc. Sister station KQNT 590 runs Rush, Beck, etc.
Rush “lost two stations” due to the Fluke incident, in Hilo HI and Pittsfield MA. He has picked up 2 or 3 though since
then, including an FM in Fargo that is 96,000 watts.
Progressive talk, though, continues to die.
Though they love the Dixie Chicks of course. Other than that...

“Classic Country” is what; Tex Ritter, Sons of the Pioneers, etc ?
The lefties will scarcely pause from sucking on the bong to notice the change. Their reaction: “whaaat?....the station’s going country?...wow, far out man. Hey man, don’t bogart that joint.”
What is considered classic country? Hank Williams, Jr.? Johnny Cash? Willie Nelson? Boxcar Willie? Conway Twitty?

Probably not that old. Maybe more like the past few decades.
Willie, Dolly, Waylon, Alabama, Garth, Barb Mandrell,
Alan Jackson, George Strait, Hank Jr., Judds. Maybe specialty shows can cover the older stuff.
Some of that, or more recent stuff. Maybe a few cuts from 50s and 60s, a bit more 70s, 80s, 90s.
Ironically enough someone used to send me “airchecks” of
AM 1090 in Seattle, which had classic country but it switched to...prog. talk. (KPTK). The KPTQ website still mentions
the prog talk shows...no listen live link or lists of
recently played songs (yet), but I’m guessing the classic country
is what I said above.
Classic Country = Marty Robbins.
On Sunday mornings, Lebanon, MO FM radio station KJEL plays the old stuff from 6-9 AM. I think it’s available on line.
