Something new might be the bizarre and off-the-wall notion, which I have always believed, that Oswald pulled the trigger, that he acted alone, and that he was not part of any conspiracy.
However, if there was some sort of conspiracy, I have long thought that Manuel Piñeiro, Castro's spy chief during the early 1960's may have at least known something about it.
Castro was speaking with an emissary of the 35th president when he received the news--he was stunned, remarking, "This is very bad."The next day his 12,445-word speech made it clear he dismissed the use of Oswald as the patsy as a cover for a reactionary operation.
His comments about CIA and FBI are prescient.

The Dallas Police paraffin test for Oswald's cheek was negative for gunshot residue.
The test was confirmed by the Atomic Energy Commission's Oak Ridge Laboratory which also tested seven men who in fact fired a Mannlicher-Carcano and all seven tested positive for the barium and antimony.
