Sinking Nations Are Pursuing Legal Options To Stave Off Destruction

The Marshall Islands is approaching extinction. The threat is not from a plague or a warring neighbor. It is the very ocean that surrounds this archipelago of islands and atolls located in the Pacific Ocean just above the equator.

The math is as simple as it is deadly. As global temperatures rise, so will sea levels from three to six feet by the end of the century according to the Columbia University Earth Institute. The speckles of flat land that make up the Marshall Islands rise about seven feet above sea level.

In a few decades, scientists predict that rising ocean levels, combined with stronger, more frequent storms, will erode coastlines and destroy fresh water and agricultural supplies of low-elevation island nations (not to mention low-altitude coastlines across the globe).

After rising sea water renders these islands uninhabitable, it will then drive these nations out of existence. Disbursed populations living in legal limbo across the globe will make it nearly impossible to form and administer any form of government, leaving behind an unanchored Diaspora state. And even if a population from an individual nation flocks to a concentrated area, it will be “profoundly difficult to maintain a culture” in a new environment that barely resembles the abandoned homeland, explained Michael Gerrard, director of Columbia University’s Center for Climate Change Law.

When the rising ocean swallows up these island nations entirely – perhaps by the end of the century – little will remain of them but wistful memories and underwater remnants of a modern-day Atlantis.

It’s all prediction. No measured sea-rise. Surprise, surprise.

And their predictions haven’t been very good so far.

I’ve gotten to a point where the gross ignorance of the ruling class is so whacked out, I can’t even bring myself to comment.

The problem is, the Ruling Class believes this and is going to force me into punishments because this is all somehow my fault.....

Didn’t rise yesterday.

Nor today.

Won’t rise in 2100 ...more than a couple of inches.

It’s all total horse pockey. None of these island nations is experiencing ANY long-term systemic sea level rise. That said, on any given day, due to wind, atmospheric pressure variations, celestial tides, and ocean currents, the water levels might be much higher than normal - for a time, hours, even days.

But this story about a six or seven foot general rise in sea levels is nothing but malarky meant to scare the gullible.

Well, it depends on what you mean by “good”. Their “predictions” have been VERY GOOD for the entire industry of Global Warming Scam.

Every Global Warming scare story has a single underlying message:

We (the warmists) want more money.

I have been going to the Chespeake Bay since 1966 and the water is at the same level today as then. (For those in Rio Linda, the bay is connected to the Atlantic Ocean.)

Where the hell is the six feet of water going to come from? Rain? Melting ice? Geez, if the oceans rise this much, there will be much worse things than sinking islands to worry about.

Man, does this crap ever end......anybody ever do the math on how much water you need to raise the oceans six feet across the planet ?

Where is this water going to come from?

Have any of these global warming geniuses ever consider that these islands they claim are sinking sit on a plate that’s moving under another?
