A Long Way Home
For so long I have felt that
I have always been homeless.
As a child, there were tough times,
Afraid to go back to the house, because
You were afraid of what you would find.
(This
is not what I am here to say.)
As a young teen, a step mother came
A mother no better than the first,
So Her house never felt like home.
(
not what I am here to say.)
Since the last few years as a teen, until now
I have made many a nest, but somehow
A place where youre existing alone,
This is just a camp, without a fire.
(
not what I am here to say.)
I have been to many a house, where
My friends tried to make me at home.
Somehow I always shut the door,
This was their home,
I was an uncomfortable guest.
(This Is what I am Here to Say)
Like a sound from light, I realize,
It is that child
Who is still running,
Running away from Home.

Happy March, DD. Was it cold up your way today? It was cold and windy here. We did get a little rain late in the day.
Lots of fruit trees blooming ... apricots, peaches and nectarines. I’m ready for spring!!

Can I Trust You?
March 1, 2012
According to lie-detection experts, Our natural tendency is to trust people. However, not everyone is trustworthy all the time. Signs that someone may be lying include fidgeting, lack of eye contact, and noticeable pauses in speaking. Even with these clues, experts warn that it is still quite tough to tell deceivers from honest people.
Joshua needed to know if he could trust the Gibeonites. When they discovered that God wanted him to get rid of some neighboring nations (Josh. 9:24), they pretended to be from a faraway land. They arrived in worn-out tunics and patched sandals, claiming, Our garments and our sandals have become old because of the very long journey (v.13). The Israelites were suspicious (v.7), but they did not ask counsel of the Lord (v.14); and Joshua unwisely made a peace treaty with the deceivers.
Many want to gain our trust: salespeople, financial advisors, or estranged family members. If we wonder: Can I trust you? we shouldnt decide quickly, based only on what seems right to us. Its better to seek counsel from Gods Word (Ps. 119:105), godly people (Prov. 11:14), and God Himself (James 1:5). Wisdom from above will help us decide who to trust.
Protect us from deceivers, Lord,
Who lie and plot to take
Advantage of us and confuse
Decisions we must make. Sper
A desire for discernment is Gods call to prayer.

HAPPY THURSDAY TO AMYS PLACE!
Red Hanrahans Song About Ireland
The old brown thorn-trees break in two high over Cummen Strand, Under a bitter black wind that blows from the left hand; Our courage breaks like an old tree in a black wind and dies, But we have hidden in our hearts the flame out of the eyes Of Cathleen, the daughter of Houlihan.
The wind has bundled up the clouds high over Knocknarea, And thrown the thunder on the stones for all that Maeve can say. Angers that are like noisy clouds have set our hearts abeat; But we have all bent low and low and kissed the quiet feet Of Cathleen, the daughter of Houlihan.
The yellow pool has overflowed high up on Clooth-na-Bare, For the wet winds are blowing out of the clinging air; Like heavy flooded waters our bodies and our blood; But purer than a tall candle before the Holy Rood Is Cathleen, the daughter of Houlihan.

Lovely but sad opening, Amy."I have made many a nest, but somehow
A place where youre existing alone,
This is just a camp, without a fire."

In my entry hall, I have an antique sidbar.
Every shelf has nests, from birds that live at my place.
Some are large, and scruffy -
Some are tiny and frail.
The reason?
When friends enter my home, that is the first thing they see.
And I want them to feel what the nests represent:
Security
Safe Haven,
Peace,
Comfort
and most of all Love.

Beautiful and sad, Amy! Thank you!
Happy March! Ours came in like a lion. My DIL called me at 12:20 last night to tell me we were under tornado warnings right here in Bristol and other surrounding areas. I got everything ready to go to my safe place. I just listened to our local news for a long time until they told us the warning was over but horrific storms and rains were not over. It thundered loudly for a good while with lots of lightning and heavy rains!
She suggested that I should sleep downstairs all night so I could get to a safe place. I had just dozed off when she called and a late call night always unnerves a person. The sun is shining brightly today and we are at 65 degrees.

I have no birds but on the steps going upstairs from this room, I have a birdhouse on each step sorta under the bannister so to be out of the way of walkers. I love birds and houses, too.
Hope you’re having a nice day and are making much progress so you can get back to that trapeze act soon! Darn it, we need some entertainment around here! So get busy, girl! ((HUGS))

Good to see you, potlatch! I haven’t been on Amy’s much as I’ve been down in my back. “Its always sumthin” as Gilda Radner always said. (I have a compression fracture in my spine and it has to be fixed as the pain is unbearable, even with pain pills.) Had a bone scan Monday and it confirmed the x-ray that I had the week before. My doctor is getting me an appointment with the doctor that can do these procedures.
Good to see you, potlatch!

Your display of bird’s nests is a lovely idea and so is the thought behind it. Cardinals build many nests here and I have saved and kept some out on my patio.
Still praying for you and others here, and hope you are doing well my friend! No replies are needed as I know it is still very hard for you. (HUGS)
