Elizabeth Smart, who was kidnapped at age 14 from her Salt Lake City home and held for what she described as "nine months of hell," is engaged to be married and anticipates a wedding in early summer, a family spokesman said on Friday.
Smart, now a 24-year-old advocate for missing children and occasional TV news commentator, has not publicly identified her fiance, spokesman Chris Thomas said.

I think that part of why she’s living such a dream life is to get back at her tormentor. He spent 9 months thinking he controlled her and wrecked her...and now she’s totally public and having a great time - while he enjoys the penal colony.

I don’t think it’s a matter of “digging up”.
She hasn’t publicly identified him. The British press doesn’t care about her wishes or feelings.
