It’s probably just gas.

>>>And I don’t need a person who will falsely blame the neo cons: read Jews; for helping to create that caliphate

It was Jimmy Carter, GW Bush, and Bill Clinton, who forced Israel to negotiate with its enemies and give up territory to people who do not want peace with them.

Ron Paul has promised not to involve himself in Middle Eastern affairs, and will get out of Israel’s way. In this way, Israel will not have to give up the West Bank to the Palestinians.

The House spends the money, the president only gets to write a wish list. Wake up, Ron Paul’s foreign policy, if one can call it that, will empower our adversaries in a way only our enemies could support.

Ron Paul is The Pork King of the GOP

How can that be when TX ranks 41st in pork this year? Ron Paul has an 83% lifetime favorable rating from Citizens Against Government Waste. Maybe you meant to use a word other than "King". Pawn, perhaps at times. But not king.

Paul is one of the least likely of the lot to cut spending since his entire 32 yr stay
In his seat has been based on bringing home the goodies
To Lake Jackson Tx.
I would gather its in this order from most likely to least
Perry
Rick S
Bachman
Newt
Paul-mittens
Huntsman

The President does not have the Constitutional authority to defund any parts of the government.

“Presidents don’t pass budgets.”

No, but they sign them into law. Or veto them as the case may be. And here is the tool that a President can use. It’s just that none of those in recent history have had the cajones to say: “balanced budget or veto” and stuck to it.

Ron Paul can’t cut the budget on his own. If he follows the constitution congress has the power to create the budget. We could need getting massive cuts to the military and still have the bloated government pensions and social programs like the failing European countries now.

He went over the top for pork in the last few years.
So he is in the top

He has fought the GOP ban on pork too and was one of four
Fellow GOP elites .
So much for Mr little govt

“Ron Paul currently represents the most draconian downsizing of federal spending. I suspect it will remain that way, and we will see establishment politicians on both sides in a tizzy over it.”

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!

The “threat” of Ron Paul is that he proposes to slaughter everyone’s sacred cow.

There are a lot of “conservative BUTs” out there. They’re conservative BUT for their own pet spending priorities.

Ron Paul is a disgrace to the Republican party.

His proposed cuts to American defense are irresponsible.

His antisemitism is intolerable.

His tolerance for Iranian acquisition of nuclear weapons is insane.

You must understand. We need to build other nations in order to be secure. We are not capable of defending ourselves at home and making use of our God-given resources while engaging in peaceful trade with foreign lands. Everyone is just like us. They all want freedom, and they all want cell phones. They want it all. They want it now, and, by God, it's up to us to deliver. That's the only way to be safe, free, and prosperous. Just ask King George.

The President does not have the Constitutional authority to defund any parts of the government.

Nor does he have Constitutional authority to spend more than he has. If the debt ceiling is not raised, then he is faced with $X in funds and $Y worth of budget, where $X is less than $Y. In the absence of a revised, balanced budget, then he has two conflicting mandates. He thus can resolve the conflict by choosing to only spend part of the budget, and gets to pick what is important enough to spend it on.

This is the precedent set by Obama during the last budget ceiling impasse, when he declared that if the ceiling was not increased, that he would not pay for social security or debt payments (even though those two items are mandatory, and thus ahead of discretionary budget items like National Endowment for the Arts).
