A Clampett may have struck it rich yet again.
Or at least the actress who played the beautiful tomboy Elly May on the television show "The Beverly Hillbillies," who settled a lawsuit with toy giant Mattel Inc. and CBS Consumer Products over a Barbie doll modeled after her character.
Actress Donna Douglas, who held the role of buxom Elly May, claimed that she never gave permission for the El Segundo toy maker to use her photo or name in promoting the doll, according to court filings.
The lawsuit asked for at least $75,000 in compensation, but the settlement amount could be more.

Not only has Donna Douglas always been a very beautiful woman, but from the interviews I’ve seen her do over the years, she always came across as a genuinely nice person - she never took on the “Diva” attitude that some many other actresses display.

Old people shouldn’t try to dress like they are in their 20’s. That goes for 40 somethings, too.

I’m quite surprised to find a case of an actor owning rights to the character they portrayed.

She probably doesn’t but the lawsuit was about using her likeness to promote a product without her consent.

To you and me both.
I grew up with her, Barbara Eden, Elizabeth Montgomery, and a few others in my dreams as I reached my teen years.

Sorry, but Donna Douglas IS a sex symbol, no matter how she tries to deny it 47 years later. What were you thinking, prancing around in your tight pants?
You cant bitch about it, but young men are going to still like you.
