Reading LOTR:FOTR - Chapter 1 - Part 1 - A Long Expected Party - Audiobook

Read by Phil Dragash and edited, and mixed, sound-effected, and designed, and painted as well. Forgive the many mistakes and glitches. I'm the only one working on this after all!

TOPICS: The Hobbit Hole
KEYWORDS: fanmade; hobbit; lordoftherings; tolkien
I thought some other fans might enjoy listening to those. To boldly steal from a commenter:

"This is an exceptional fan endeavor. It has the feel of the films but the entire content of the book. A thrilling combination. "

Admittedly, there are mistakes (this is an amateur reading, not a professional one), but on the whole, this is very well done.

If you like listening to audiobooks while working (or Freeping), enjoy.

This isn’t my project. You’ll have to ask the creator.

Was just reading the Sil this afternoon. Where the heck was Galadriel when Doriath, and Gondolin fell? Was she already hanging in the havens with Cirdan? Thanks in advance.

Is the Simarillion any good? I’ve heard of it but have not read it yet.

Love Tolkien. My favorite has to be Master Samwise.

Its awesome but the beginning is a bit slow and can turn you off.

The Hobbit is like Saving Private Ryan
LOTR is like WW2
Silmarillion is like the Bible “God said let there be light....all the way to the end of the hobbit.

Some familiar LOTR characters that appear in it include Sauron, Balrog, Elrond, Galadriel and Celeborn, Gil-Galad (The elf with the spear at the beginning of LOTR movie), Cirdan (The elf at the very end of LOTR movie standing in back as everyone got on the last ship.

Precisely where the twain were during the destruction of Nargothrond in F.A. 495 and Doriath in F.A. 503/F.A. 506 is unknown; perhaps they were there during the sacks and escaped one or both. It is not unlikely that after the destruction of the latter they went either to the Havens of Sirion or with their Telerin kin to the Isle of Balar with Círdan. If the former, they escaped the Third Kinslaying there, and either went into hiding in Beleriand or, more probably, went to the Isle of Balar. During the War of Wrath, given the choice whether to stay in Middle-earth or not, they surprisingly decided to remain. Galadriel was still very proud, even arrogant, and refused to accept the pardon of the Valar. Either Celeborn felt the same way, or stayed for the sake of his wife.

Nobody can read the Simarillion.

However, the Tolkien professor explains it so well I might have a go at it.

The Simarillion seminar. and if you need a short course in all of Tolkiens's books, go to his college lectures...several of these are on the Simarillion.

Love reading sections of the books over and over. I must’ve read the trilogy entirely over 8 times.
