I have complained profusely here on this site about Rick Perry's bad mistake on tuition for illegals, but implying he was 'drunk' at this event seems a bit over the edge. That is not the first thing that would come to my mind, frankly. Perhaps overcompensating, trying too much to appear likeable, etc., but drunk? I don't think so.

If you don't like him, then challenge him on his beliefs, his record, anything substantive. This is not the way.

I agree. He appears a little more “loosened” up than usual but perhaps he was trying to appear loosened up. My point is that whether he had a cocktail or two is none of my business.
