So I assume you consider Romney more left than Obama, cause that's exactly who'll we get if we don't get behind whoever is our nominee.

Not at all. What I do consider Romney to be is an energetic and connected political operative who lives for positive press and 'leadership' through reaching across to the other side. While 'Present' Obama is lazy, incompetent, and reactionary with little real political connections and the inability to provide leadership.

Since my major concern is the liberal policies being passed, not who's the biggest Marxist, I would literally vote for anyone other than Mitt Romney. I consider him to be a far greater threat to me and my beliefs than Obama ever will be.

I held my nose for the last time with McCain.

but if he does get through the primaries and Nikki Haley (or Marco Rubio) is his runningmate, would you vote for him?

I wouldn’t. I’m that upset with the current status quo of the GOP more than the country at large even.

too soon for Haley. She’d be Palinized.

I echo your opinion and I can only hope more people feel the same if we ever want to truly challenge the GOP status quo and not fall for their “but look! Obama!” tricks...

That being said, how would you feel if Governor Nikki Halely or Senator Marco Rubio — two supposedly “real” conservatives were Romney’s runningmate?

She’s a harder target for PC reasons (Haley is Indian-American) and far less polarizing (doesn’t have a Down’s Syndrome child or as spirited of a personality as Palin.)

Haley was just sworn in. Don’t be ridiculous. How about we skip Romney entirely, and just have Joe Arpaio/Mo Brooks ticket.

Hey, come on. You can’t just evoke God to stand behind your opinion. God isn’t a block of wood you can hold up in front of you as you fight your battles.

In capital letters no less. You know I disagree with what you are saying. You’re just saying God agrees with you and not me. I can’t find a word to express how uncool I find that.

Pray more. You are not a prophet.

yes but she’d be yet another female governor that didn’t complete her first term. I don’t want another promising upstart to be ruined. If McCain didn’t pick Palin, she’d be still governor today and who knows what she would’ve been able to accomplish.

“I predict I’ll not vote for Romney no matter what letter floats behind his name. I abjectly refuse to give liberals more power in Washington DC”

Ditto...also will not vote for Romney. However, at this point it is incredulous to believe that Hillary would run as Obama’s V.P.

That’s exactly what I said. That I’m not a prophet. I said it was His will that she made the decision she did in spite of what her initial intentions were. She said herself her final decision was made “prayerfully.” But to suggest she was not seriously leaning towards a run is a total disregard and ignorance of evidence, what her inner circle understood to be true and how they operated in light of her potential run, and her character. (She had nothing to gain from waiting as long as she did if only to announce she wasn’t running.)

Admittedly, the mass hatred of obama will probably push the anti-Romney's into voting for him...but why are we always left with an "anybody but" candidate?

Again, we are letting the msm, the democrats and the establishment GOP pick our candidate.

It will be very discouraging if Romney wins the primary and it will suck the very life out of the right.

It'll be McCain all over again...

Wendell Willkie was the Republican nominee in 1940 but died before the end of the term he was running for--a victim of Tecumseh's curse without even winning the election. (His vice-presidential running mate also died in 1944 so wouldn't have completed his term.)

At the Yalta conference in Feb. 1945, Winston Churchill at one point mentioned how Willkie had visited and Churchill had given him a copy of his policy on something. FDR then asked, "Was that what killed him?"

That being said, how would you feel if Governor Nikki Halely or Senator Marco Rubio — two supposedly “real” conservatives were Romney’s runningmate?

Does the VP suddenly assume control of the party, as is traditional for the President to do so? Does the VP make White House policy, or sit upon the President to keep him from making stupid decisions over and over again? I don't care how solid the conservative credentials are of a running mate second to Romney - If Romney wins the nomination, I won't be voting for them. I will do whatever I can to nullify that nomination.

We've seen how Romney's people operate; the purge of conservatives from the Republican party by a Romney leadership will be swift and vicious. The RINOS will protect their own, and get rid of the disruptive elements in the party.

It is not a negotiable point for me.

Governor Nikki Halely or Senator Marco Rubio

Both are extreamly good conservatives, but look what they did to Perry on immigration and Rubio's position is EXACTLY the same. Won't work. As for Nikki, she's great but doesn't have the excitement factor that Mitt would need. The only person who could put him even close to winning the general is Sarah and she won't do it, not with Mitt.

“No, we just can’t predict God’s plans. Palin was poised, prepped, and ready for action—but GOD did not hit the “go” button. It was ultimately HIS doing in the end, not hers.”

are you saying that Palin didn’t have any free will? Maybe the plan was that IF she worked on her candidacy instead of appearing on reality shows she would’ve been president.
