I was at work, on the air, that morning and I clearly remember following that thread as it happened.
If you want to see some excellent interviews with members of the FDNY and NYPD from just a few weeks after 9/11, try this. It's a special episode of the TV show "Third Watch", in which they sit down with many of the firemen, EMT's, and policemen who'd been technical advisers and extras during the show's first two seasons, as well as family members of men who survived and some who were still missing. All of the interviews were conducted in early October 2001.
Actress Molly Price, who starred in the series, is interviewed in the family segment. Her husband is a member of the FDNY and was on his way to the towers when they fell.

I was going to try and find those threads this weekend.
Once I finally arrived back home, I specifically remember researching until all hours and realized that this really is Holy War. Has been. Continues to be. No matter what we are ‘told.’
Well, I connected the dots back in November 1999. That's when it was announced that possible suicide of one of the pilots may have been what caused Air Egypt Flight 990 to crash into the Atlantic Ocean 60 miles south of Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, killing all 217 people on board.
My initial thought: If they will crash a plane by suicide and taking all passengers with them, they will crash a plane with passengers into a building.
I was at work that morning. A coworker came and told me that a plane had crashed into the WTC and I pulled up this thread and confirmed what had happened. I kept checking FR threads all day.
I said on that date that NOTHING would EVER be the same....NOTHING!!!
