These are the latest numbers I've found. I post this so next time your doc asks you if there are guns in the house, ask them why they didn't ask you about seat belts in cars or whether or not you have a swimming pool? And sorry about the formatting of the table, but you folks will figure it out...

I noticed how low homicide was as a cause—and according to another website, only 1 out of 8 homicides in the 6 to 11 age group are caused by strangers.
Thus, if you say “I am so scared of my kids playing in the public park, so instead I drive them ten miles every Saturday so they can go swimming at a friend’s pool” you are someone with no understanding of risk.

“Firearm” would be much farther down the list if it were categorized as “accidental discharges.”
More than half of those listed as death by firearm are gang shootings.

“Kids”? Are they talking about people under the age of 18? A number that would include teenage gang members? Let’s sort this number out to get at the truth.

(126 people were indicted for being terrorists in the last two years. Every one of them was Muslim.)

Ha! Our biggest cause if death where I work ( a children’s hospital) is “non-accidental” trauma. AKA abuse. Usually mommy’s boyfriend.
