I am curious. Did you watch the trial, did you only watch summaries of the trial, did you follow this case pretty thoroughly from the beginning?
I think you are right on in your assessment. I’m not sure about the schizophrenia aspect - the kid we knew had a bizarre language thing going on - I don’t see that in Casey Anthony.
The friend of my daughter had been hospitalized/Baker Act many times. Couldn’t keep him properly medicated. He set his mother’s house on fire one time building some kind of a shrine in his bedroom. He jumped off a building breaking both legs. Heartache for his mom. In the end, he took it all out on her, and then called the police telling them “I think I killed my mother”.
Have you ever read the Websleuths forum on Caylee?

I followed the case somewhat when it was happening. I didn’t watch the trial other than what was shown on the news. I read about it more than I watched.

Interesting article that pretty much sums up what I think as well.
The case is over. There really is no reason to argue about it. The jury heard all the evidence presented in court and made their unanimous decision as to guilt. What any of us think just doesn’t matter.
Thanks for the link! I’ve looked at websleuths before for other cases, good site. I really don’t know that much about Schizophrenia so I won’t disagree with you on that point.
Personally, I think she got away with Murder 1, and even if the jury didn’t think it was Murder 1, there were lesser charges they could have convicted her of. I keep hearing that the state “overcharged”. Really? Because if the jury was so damn smart they HAD to find her not guilty of Murder 1 due to lack of evidence, they should have been smart enough to see that they were allowed to convict on the lesser charges such as Murder 2, manslaughter, or at least child abuse.
Yes, but what many of us think may make a difference in the future.
What case were you watching? She was ACQUITTED on all the major charges and is to be released next week.
What are you talking about? I know that.
Have you listened to any of the jurors?
Does acquitted mean innocent?
Does acquitted mean innocent?
She seemed to be angry at her attorney as the full video of that shot depicts.
Yep, all the same pieces of craziness. Probably why the parents were so much involved with Caley, Without them Caley could have been gone even sooner.
Casey’s words as she shot that raged look at her Attorney...:”Did you see...!”
You’re right! I wonder if Linda Drane Burick saw this. I noticed her walk past just after.
Agree.
Plus there's an interesting reversal or two in there.
What that means is not as yet known, but the thought is that it's the SAME PROBLEM but with some of the details different ~ and many people with those deletions and reversals simply don't exhibit the symptoms.
Classically it has been thought schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder never appeared together ~ but that idea is under attack (as pointed out above).
