Game of thrones is the greatest show I have seen on tv for quite a while. Cant wait for the next season, actually Im looking to get the books but Im not sure whether to read ahead or read each book after I have watched a season.
Boardwalk empire is pretty amazing aswell.
On to the topic of breasts, there is nothing wrong with showing breasts on tv, I mean if its not completely tasteless. In any case those shows are not geared towards younger audiences, and the violence is far more inappropriate for children than any tit can be.

Here’s my take, based on what me and my wife went through, I have read the series and she has not.

Since she had not read the series, the sheer number of characters/families/plot-lines was daunting and confusing at times. As she got through the series, it got better, but from my perspective, I was able to enjoy the series more on TV starting with episode 1, since I had the background material that is part of reading the books.

If you’re enjoying the TV series as is, I’d say wait for the season to end, but if it’s confusing or you’re dying to why something is important, but it isn’t explained in the TV series, go ahead and read the books. The books are pretty hefty and can take a while to plow through, so you might be able to keep your reading and watching in sync, if you’d like.

That being said, can you really wait until season 2 starts to know what’s going to happen next? :-)

I could not get into Boardwalk Empire as it was just darn slow but Game of Thrones is really good. The dude (Jason Momoa) who played Khal Drogo will play the new Conan the Barbarian.
