Why don’t I have one yet?

Um... I can’t afford the cost of orthopedic surgeons for my shoulder?

What do I win?

My M-38 cracked its stock, right behid the bolt, the first time I went to shoot it. I'm not certain what gave first, my shoulder, or the stock.

Cheaper than Dirt has a really nice aftermarket stock for about $60 (plus shipping) that takes a ton of the recoil out of it. It made it real nice to shoot.

It’s one of the few rifles where it is still manly to wear a recoil pad, especially the carbines!

I'm right handed.

In my misspent youth, I seriously screwed up my right shoulder, to the point of getting orthopedic surgery. Wanna see my railroad tracks?

I shoot both an M-44 carbine and an M-1891/30 rifle, in their original military configuration, with (mostly) Wolf 174gr ammo.

No jacket, no shoulder pad ...

If I can handle it, with my permanently effed-up shoulder ...

You have obviously never fired an 1891 Mosina ... the rifle weighs enough and is 48 inches long without the sticker, so the recoil is quite manageable.
