baraq’s demand for Isreal to return to the ‘67 borders is a demand for Isreal to surrender.

but baraq is not a muslim. (sarcasm)

The US needs to take additional land from Mexico; namely a 10 mile free-fire buffer zone along the border.

I think that today’s so-called Mexicans should go back to Spain and leave Mexico-Tenochtitlan to the Nahua Aztec tribe, the Mexica.

To make this short, Obama has said that Israel should return to its 1967 borders. For example, Golan Heights was taken after Israel was attacked.

One of the problems in all of this is that Israel launched the first strikes in the 1967 war (unlike the Yom Kippur war in 1973). There is an objectively valid case for saying that the territory Israel 'seized' in the 1967 war ws the result of a war of aggression, and in particular places like the Golan Heights changed hands not because Israel was attacked, but because Israel attacked.

The fact the Arab armies were massing on their borders, and the Arab air fleets were being armed with live weapons for their own first strike does not change the fact Israel actually struck first.

It also doesn't change the fact the pre-1967 boundaries of Israel were indefensible. Before 1967, they did not have the strategic depth to absorb the attack of their enemies armed with modern Soviet weapons. They either had to strike first or be annihilated.

Going back to the 1967 borders is suicide for Israel and absolutely counter to the idea of self-determination for the inhabitants of the disputed areas - where the current Israeli citizens outnumber the displaced Palestinians by a large margin.

Many or most of the borders around the world were drawn or set by the victors of the most recent war in any given location. And I think practically all of the Middle Eastern borders were drawn by the victors of WWI.

And except for the Arabs around Israel, the borders have been accepted for the most part. They’ve refused to accept those borders since the 1920s and have started and lost several wars in their refusal, resulting in several changes to the borders.

There is nothing at all unique or particularly wise about pointing out which borders were established by the most recent war.

Obama's Demand That Israel Return To 1967 Borders Is Similar To The Demands Of Mexican Reconquista

What demand?

Israel is free to act as it wishes in this matter.

Other countries get aid and loans from the U.S. and we don't come even close to meddling in their internal affairs like we do with Israel.

What internal affairs?

Has Israel annexed all the territories already?

If the South couldn’t secede from the Union, I hardly see how Obama could give the Southwest away.

Besides, I don’t think he has the final say. Each of those states has their own government and I would think the buck stops with them.
