Large flexible displays with any cost efficiency at all, would have the potentiality of killing large blueprint printers even more quickly than xerox killed mimeograph.

I’ve been expecting a color Kindle late this year or 2012. This seems to confirm it.

Would this have applications on big billboards?

Probably not, as the technology has no backlighting and would not be visible at night. Think of Minority Report-style cereal boxes, that’s the level of ubiquity this stuff will eventually end up having.

Luckily, that ought not to happen till we have a little more progress on the battery front. In the meantime, expect in-store advertising displays, trade show publicity gimmicks, and the odd trendy magazine cover.

My computer’s gone weird - I’m getting messages that say the page can’t be found... I’ll check later.

Buy one shirt and change the color with a push of a button...

Think of IN HOUSE DISPLAYS in department stores, etc. There's bare wall. You cover it with this stuff. You display all sorts of things you can't possibly put in there ~ or just pleasing outdoor scenery.

Think of something like Cabela type displays all over the store only instead of stuffed animals you see mountain goats leaping, water falls falling, herds of wildabeast wildabeasting ~

Then there's the possibilities that go way beyond BIG SCREEN systems available today ~ let's say we wrap display paper around a large column in the middle of the store and we show haute couture models wearing the stuff we have on sale, and you can see that image from any location ~ 360 degrees around ~ full size models, and an indepth background.

You can literally bring the OUTSIDE to the INSIDE and vend your products in a North African souk, or an Andean village, or whatever you want.

You should be able to take this system into your home, and sit there in the middle of the jungle and as the sun goes down, you actually see the tse tse flies come out and bite the cattle over the way ~ add sound effects.

This stuff is science fiction come to life ~ and at a fraction of the cost of any vacation to an exotic location ~ plus you can change it as you wish.
