What is better than good crappie?
sometime before Obama gets his a kicked | little old me

I don't think there is better fish to eat than crappie. Tuna is good, bass is OK, catfish can be tasty, but there ain't nothing better than good Arkansas crappie.

I can eat that stuff cold.

Headed up to AR this weekend, taking some of my tasty ribs to burn, but my bud up there has a cooler full of crappie took out of lake DeGray and I'm sure it will be delish.

Easter Sunday feast for the chosen few. Bismarck, AR, baby. We git 'er done!

Eat till you cain't no mo, then break into the Tennessee sour mash. Hey, I'm a cheap date.

Smoked white fish. Try it. Usually find them in a good deli.

Texas crappie is delish too!

I used to go fishing with my dad and we would catch them and fry them in some corn meal right in the open air, with some white bread and chilli flavored corn chips.
You are right....crappie is the best tasting of them all!!!

If it’s so good, and I’m not saying it isn’t, why is it spelled half-crap?

Ahhhh, I guess. Snapper, redfish, I’ll even dip into the crabs and shrimp. But crappie is still my fave.

I don’t eat crawdads, my bad I guess, don’t care much for salmon, lobster is good, but give me papermouths. 3-4 pounders, what they call “slabs” in AR.

Y’all have a great Easter.

Needs a name change. I am not going to eat anything named “crappie”.

I suspect I’d be dead if I was?

What kind of fish is it? What is it comparable to?

Plenty of other good things to eat. Don’t imagine my taste buds will die of neglect as long as there is genuine southern style fried chicken, chili, hot fresh buttered cornbread and all the other good stuff.

I've been to Lake DeGray. Nice place.

Hope you have a happy crappie redneck Easter!

Now, that is just rude. Go eat some of that if you prefer it to good freshwater swimmers

Laz, why you hate crappies?

Rainbow trout or Superior white fish is the best...broiled until the eyes turn white/with lots of butter and a tad of garlic..

I admit it is good, but man, dem bones, dem bones!!
That’s why my personal favorite is catfish. Cook that puppy up and the meat literally falls off the center!

Ho, I knew I’d get a nibble if I tossed that jig out there.

DeGray is so cool, I wish I lived up there. The friggin’ jet ski dipchits will make you nutz about 7 in the AM sometimes, but a worthy use of liesure time.

Took care of that in Louisiana, we call them Sac-a-lait.
That and *Bull* bream are the best eating fish to me.

OK, OK, trouts can be good too. I have ate them by the stream in CO just an hour or so after they were taken. And I ain’t a big fish guy.

I guess it is like they say about art: I don’t know much about it, but I know what I like!
