Has anybody seen the movie "Battle for Los Angeles" yet?
I give it a best film of the year so far!
Someone told me they liked it a lot.
Saw it yesterday.....If you like Marine urban combat, go for it. I give it a C+.
I liked it, but a little too much action for me. I would like to know more about the aliens. I would give it 3 stars out of 4.
Dog please answer one question for me about the movie?
a month ago, there was a “ufo” event over Israel that was either an internet hoax or rumored to be from the movie and a promotion
so, I gotta ask, was that event shown in the movie?
no, it is not. very good movie! just saw it today. me and my friends loved it.
I don’t see how it could have anything to do with this movie. If you like war movies, marines, urban combat, bad ass aliens, this is the movie.
I saw those videos of a UFO over the dome, but I don’t know if it couldn’t have been a light show of some sorts, or an actual manifestation of evil.
A friend of mine called today to implore me to see this movie.
He had just returned from seeing it and thought it was absolutely fantastic.
It does the job any movie should do: entertain. It will definitely not win an Academy Award, too pro military.
Great special effects, but it does not suffocate you with them.
Given the choices out there, it is a great choice.
Best damn movie I’ve seen in a long time. Shows the US Marines in a totally positive light. As well as other branches of the service, even the Coast Guard is in this one.
Ebert hated it because it shows our MILITARY figuring out how to save the day, not some liberal reporter or scientist. The aliens are believable. There is no stupid lets bend science to make this work moment. This is not ID4, District 9 or that horrid Skyline flick. They work it out how to deal with the invaders. The soldiers are honorable men and women who fight and die to protect civilians and defend their country.
The use of weapons in the movie is fantastic and about as accurate as you can get. The tactics are pretty darn good too. Yes, they “paint” the target which wasn’t accurate, but I just didn’t care at that point. But tossing the grenade in the pool earlier and the “John Wayne” moment were great and more than made up for the errors.
Yes, there are a few cliches but even Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down had them. What this movie doesn’t have is aliens that can’t die or we need some “special” trick to kill them.
If you enjoy action films, this is the best one I’ve seen in a long time. I will see it again and buy it on blu-ray.
Yes, we did with my GF. (the trade off is that I see a stupid chick movie of her choosing but that’s OK)
It’s pro-US military which makes every liberal movie writer hate it. I recommend this to everyone.
Ebert disliked it because of the frenetic directorial style.
Really? That was his excuse? Guess he had to use something. I remain unimpressed with his crappy reviews.
Great movie. God, family, country. Proud to be an American moment.
I am with you. I dislike Ebert & normally dont agree with him
The “Hanna” film coming out in April with the young Irish actress who plays an assassin looks very good. http://www.google.com/search?sclient=psy&hl=en&safe=off&source=hp&q=hanna+movie&btnG=Search I avoid almost everything from WHoreliwood since they helped elect the muslim.
“Roger Ebert hated it”
It has aliens and stuff blowing up. Probably not enough male nudity for his taste.
Even back in the day? He did some great film writing.
