Only when they’re playing at Lambert field.
I’d be funny if the stations ratings went up during this time.
I’m not a football fan and I’d be pissed off if I were a regular listener.
Huh? Where's that?
Bill O’Reilly should take a cue from them (See my tagline...).
Indeed, and let’s hope his fave baseball player “Manny Ortez” will enjoy watching the game. (Don’t forget also that acc. to Obama the White Sox play at “Cominsky Field”)
As Howie Carr was saying yesterday apparently Obama is remaining neutral regarding the game—neutral? You’re a Chicago Bears fan, allegedly, and you’re neutral? I would
think a true blue Bears fan would root for the team playing the rival Packers—that would be the Steelers, whose owner
endorsed B.O., I believe. By being neutral is he treading on eggshells to not offend football fans in either Wisc. or
Penn.?
If they were a libtalk station, they would...
It’s in Kerry’s empty head.
Yes, not everyone is watching the game but this looks like a viral sort of stunt—it gets their name out.
The Boston area has a similar “we play everything” station, Mike FM 93.7, and I wish they’d carry the Red Sox games their sister station WEEI 850 carries. I work nights and the WEEI signal is tough to get in, but 93.7, with an antenna 5 miles away, comes in clear. Maybe they figure putting the Sox on a fairly strong FM signal isn’t worth the wrath of regular
music listeners, who will have to bear missing tunes in favor of Red Sox games on a regular basis...
“Im not a football fan and Id be pissed off if I were a regular listener.”
If you were in Green bay and you aren’t listening to or watching the game Sunday, something is seriously wrong. Heck, they are closing stores, people are getting the day off.
If you wound up writing a letter to the editor about this, you would be laughed out of town. People here bleed green and gold. And those are the ones who do not follow Packer football. I’m in GB. It is serious.
How long until the NFL trademarks, “The Big Game.”
(If I hear that term one more time, I’m going to take a flamethrower to something)
John Kerry, messing up the name of Lambeau. It would kind of be like a politician going into Massachusetts and saying the Patriots play at “Schick Stadium” (not Gillette)
HA! Good answer...
He and Kerry seem to have a lot in common in their knowledge of, and interest in, sports.
They certainly have the Super Bowl name trademarked and keep an eye on anyone using it without permission so you do indeed hear “the big game” instead—that too may indeed get
trademarked someday.
A manufacturer of chip dip took adv. of this to make a radio ad saying “We can’t say the name of this event legally,
but watching it would be SUPER...like a BOWL of Dean’s dip.”
That got by...
I guess the name was inspired by the child of an NFL official who had a toy called a “Super Ball”
