Next to simple a hoax of multiple videos created by collaborating hoaxers, it would be my best guess. The link above about generators being brought to the general location lends credence to the laser theory, IMO.
Yeah, and I could see such a thing being staged quite easily.
But on reading your link to the Hoaxkiller video, I think that guy is right. The close-up video is probably a fake.
I’m not as impressed with his flash of light argument—it could have been blocked or angled or something—but what camera would give that monitor-y pixelation on a zoom?
