Jimmy Buffett plans a free concert Sunday in Tampa to urge people to vote for Democrat Barack Obama for president. The "Last Chance for Change" rally and concert is happening two days before the election at the outdoor Ford Amphitheatre.

Could happen to anybody. A friend of mine saw conductor Leonard Bernstein slip off his podium and go sliding into the orchestra at a concert. Bernstein used to jump around so much (too much, IMO) on the podium; he probably fell off more times than we know.

Other reports are saying that it was the end of his encore - the stage lighting started flashing and he held his hands up like he was momentarily blinded by the flashes. Stepped of the stage, hit a metal railing with his head on the way down. Suffered a large gash and was unconscious for 5-10 minutes.

Reported to be in stable condition.

I abhore his politics, but love his music. I am a true parrothead no matter what, and pray Jimmy recovers from this with all his faculties and lives a long healthy life.
