the world doesn’t seem to be the worse for their absence. surely these people can find a more prudent use of their time.

“Researchers aim to resurrect mammoth in five years”
The REALLY BIG problem: can the voters resurrect the Elephant Party in two years?

I disagree John, I’m cutting down some saplings and making spears as I type this, I’m going to be prepared, just think of the next biggest sportsman event! “the Great Mammoth Hunt!”... count me in heh.

Umm.........Do these guys ever watch TV? It always goes bad, and the next thing you know people are dying and the thing ALWAYS gets away to come back later meaner and bigger.

This sounds really neat, but I very much doubt that the mammoth cells have been frozen perfectly enough (without occasional thawing) to contain a complete genome of the animal.
If they are worried about whether to display the young mammoth to the public, they are getting way, way ahead of themselves.

well, since there is only going to be one of them at first, I am pretty sure that the all-powerful EPA will put them on the endangered species list. but I like the way you’re thinking ;)

Then they’ll have to re-create cavemen and saber tooth tigers when the Mammoth population gets out of control
