“Researchers aim to resurrect mammoth in five years”
The REALLY BIG problem: can the voters resurrect the Elephant Party in two years?

Umm.........Do these guys ever watch TV? It always goes bad, and the next thing you know people are dying and the thing ALWAYS gets away to come back later meaner and bigger.
To: Germanicus Cretorian
This sounds really neat, but I very much doubt that the mammoth cells have been frozen perfectly enough (without occasional thawing) to contain a complete genome of the animal.
If they are worried about whether to display the young mammoth to the public, they are getting way, way ahead of themselves.

Under the plan, the nuclei of mammoth cells will be inserted into an elephant's egg cell from which the nuclei have been removed, to create an embryo containing mammoth genes, the report said. Boy, is that elephant in for a rude surprise

I, for one, welcome our new pachyderm overlords.
Actually, it would be nice to restore the North American branch of the pachyderm family. Africa and Asia have had all the fun for too long. I’d imagine mammoths could do ok up in the Yukon/NW Territories/North Slope area, though they might be a bit of a headache for the drilling sites.
