Emergency responders raced to CBS Television City studios late Friday after a white powder substance was found by a member of the Dancing with the Stars staff... Fortunately, the FBI reported it appears to be mere talcum powder after "initial field screening was negative for hazardous substances." An investigation continues. The powder was contained in a piece of fan mail addressed to Bristol Palin.

But - to be fair - Bristol is not the best dancer on the show, but she has the best attitude by far. The show is not now and never was "just" about the best dancer. It is also about who people want to see advance for whatever reason. Some people just like to root for the underdog. Some will vote based on who has improved the most, or who has the best attitude! Both Jennifer and Brandy have lots of entertainment and dance experience (Jennifer's father is a famous dancer/choreographer). Brandy has wanted it too much - always talking about how badly she wants to win the trophy. Jennifer, as good as she is, plays up the "poor me" thing about her injuries too much. I think attitude can play against them sometimes. And Maks with his "tude" towards the judges hasn't helped. Bristol has been a trooper and had a positive attitude from day one. She is also one of the most improved dancers for a total amateur in the show's history.
The producer of DWTS puts the Bristol "controversy" in proper perspective

My wife was watching that episode. I told her Grey said she “had to get some air” that probably came from a prescription bottle. I used to work with people who did a similar disappearing act to loosen up.”

"It will go from being a dancing competition to a popularity competition..."
It stopped being a "dancing competition" when the show's producers opened it up for viewer voting.
If they want it to be a dance competition, it shouldn't be "Dancing with the STARS", it should be "Dancing with professional dancers".
The "STAR" element of the show automatically makes it not so much about the technique of the dance, but turns it into a "popularity" and "fan base" program. The judges are just there to lend a sense of "officialdom" to the contest and try and sway the voting audience with their knowledge of dancing and SNIDE remarks.
They are like today's Federal judges, judging against the will of the people.
I'm guessing the mere fact that Bristol is on the show (given Sarah's popularity) and this controversy has started, that the show will have record-breaking (for them) ratings this year.
If it all backfires on the producers and the show is cancelled, then blame the producers for poor planning - not Bristol...or Sarah.
So as you can see, we are in agreement.

Unfortunately, voting on one of the moronic shows is more important than voting in a real election for far too many people.
Uhhh ... that is probably a good thing.

The producers of this show are brilliant. They have pulled people into watching this thing that would never have even considered dropping in. Not just Bristol, but the athletes as well.
I would never have tuned in if my dear wife hadn’t been so intent on seeing the Palin gal on there.

Let me remind you that it was the Enquirer that broke the story of the blue dress and clinton and they were first with the Edward's “love child” scandal. YOU wanted the quote... I know it was stated. YOU find it.
I have found a youtube video where 1 minute into it, Patrick talks about it being very difficult keeping jennifer focused ie laughing, giggling, crying... but it worked.

The I found this article:
“Patrick Swayze memoir recalls Jennifer Grey as a pain on set of ‘Dirty Dancing’”
http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/39475258.html
If that does not satisfy you... sorry... I made my point and grey’s actions on DWS backs up my claim.

YOU gave the quote. It's up to YOU to prove it.
Patrick Swayze memoir recalls Jennifer Grey as a pain on set of Dirty Dancing
Your "quote": the biggest b!tch that he ever worked with . That is NOT what he said. Swayze has NEVER spoken about anyone that way. Ever.

Patrick talked pretty salty when he appeared on the syndicated radio show “The Big Show with John-Boy and Billy”. But then you already knew that... being all knowing and such.

Cool! Bookmarking.
I haven’t watched a TV in about 4 years now.
Now, I won’t have to watch to vote for Bristol!
Thanks!

Look. You make a statement and then can't prove that's exactly what he said. That may fly on FR but do that to a lib and they'll eat your lunch. I learned early on that if you can't prove it, don't say it. And DON'T paraphrase. Older posters on FR demand proof and links. It's an extremely good habit to get into.
Swayze also said of Grey: But Swayze - like the nice guy he really was - forgave the actress for her annoying tics, saying she still did a "truly phenomenal job" and that "in many ways, she made the movie." as per Aria's posted article.

Exactly. He probably said that things didn’t always go smoothly, and they titled the article “Swayze claims Grey is the anti-Christ!” or some such thing. It’s a sleazy device to grab attention.
