Report: Dancing With the Stars Set On Lockdown After White Powder Mailed to Bristol Palin
thehollywoodgossip.com ^ | Nov. 20, 9010 | Free Britney

Posted on 11/20/2010 6:46:35 AM PST by bgill

Emergency responders raced to CBS Television City studios late Friday after a white powder substance was found by a member of the Dancing with the Stars staff... Fortunately, the FBI reported it appears to be mere talcum powder after "initial field screening was negative for hazardous substances." An investigation continues. The powder was contained in a piece of fan mail addressed to Bristol Palin.

Liberalism is a mental disorder. There is no doubt about it any more. As they like to say, it's proven science. Case closed.

It appears to me that all the people etc that are trying to get Mz Palin ‘bounced’ are just making it almost impossible for her to lose as it will look like the ‘fix is in’.

Then again, I am referring to what normal people in charge would assume, so these libs and MSM idiots will just plow ahead.

Call me old-fashioned (?) but I have yet to watch any of these so called ‘shows’ and the more I hear of the ‘drama queen’ angle just convinces me I am missing absolutely nothing.

The wife and I have been watching DWTS to see how Bristol did, and to see what controversy - like this one - that the liberals would start.

Her dance partner (can't remember his name) has been totally supportive to Bristol...most of the others have been, well, arms-length-tolerant...so far.

The Judges? Well, they've been mostly gah-gah, over-the-top, for the black dancers for fear of "offending", and tiptoeing around the rim of insult toward Bristol. There is no doubt in my mind that they are all libs and their contempt for the name "Palin" shines through their facade of cheshire cat grins.

But - to be fair - Bristol is not the best dancer on the show, but she has the best attitude by far. And the courage she shows by just going on the show after the media dragging her through the turnip patch for over a year, is amazing.

I was thinking for a while - especially after the other night - that the classy thing to do would be to recuse herself from the remainder of the competition. However, since this "powder" incident I say hell no, go for it. I'll be voting for her next week just to piss off the liberals and snotty Jennifer Gray.

Go Bristol...

VOTING — HOW IT WORKS:

During the live shows, judges will give a score based on several factors, including technical execution. But the judges’ scores alone do not decide a couple’s fate.

Phone lines, text votes (AT&T customers only) & online polls will open at the top of each performance show so that viewers can vote for their favorites. Phone & text lines will stay open for 30 minutes after the end of the show. Online voting will remain open until 11am (Eastern Time) the next day.

Bristol Palin & Mark Ballas 800-868-3407

The person who's been acting like a drama queen is Jennifer Grey, who starred in the movie, Dirty Dancing. She whines and complains every week about how hard it is.

Yes, Bristol is up against Jennifer Grey, who is famous from dancing in the movie, Dirty Dancing.

Bristol, on the other hand, never had a dance lesson in her life and is working hard every week to learn the routines.

If a right-winger did this, the entire Federal government from the NSA to the National Guard would be deployed against the RNC on a backdrop of 24/7 CNN/MSNBC coverage of the homicidally-insane "Republicans".

Instead, we'll get silence laced with occasional "Oh it was just a joke" excuses.

The absolute wrong thing for her to do would be to quit now. If she does, the liberal haters win. I think this is what they want. She had no clue she would go this far in the competition, and people are voting for her, so, the libs can take their whiny, Palin-hate and shove it. The media is responsible for this Palin hate, and people are too stupid to see thru their liberal bias. My God, does everything have to be about politics? According to the obama world, I guess it does.

I hope she wins just to tick them off big time! After what she’s going through, she deserves it. None of the other contestants, that I’m aware of, now or in the past has had to go through such crap.

And, maybe, Mark has some fans out there too. Could be he’s pulling a fair share of the votes. But, no one mentions that - its all about Bristol.

That's easy for you to say when it isn't your baby.

Bristol is everyday people. The first thing she'll consider is her baby. Not politics. Not dancing. She's a Mom and already misses her little guy. Stop thinking politically and put yourself in her shoes a moment. She didn't sign onto Dancing thinking there'd be threats. Any decisions she makes will be based on her little guy's safety.

Not that all liberals are crazy, but a good number of them are. Bristol is cute and sweet, and is by far the most improved dancer I have seen on the show in a long time. That said, she probably should have been voted off by now, and I don’t plan on voting for her. Truth is, I rarely vote for these types of shows. Last time I did was for Chris Allen.

Unfortunately, voting on one of the moronic shows is more important than voting in a real election for far too many people. If you mean the Bristol fans, I see it a bit differently.

I have, from the start, seen this as the Tea Partyers are not done voting yet. We have found our voice and still want to use it.

To me, it's just a carryover from the Nov. elections. Sort of a "caught up in the moment" type of thing until we get going again for 2012.

Bristol comes across as a real sweet honest young lady. I love that her dance partner came to Alaska, they seem like good friends and Bristol has more maturity than many her age.....

For the first time in my life I will be voting and my vote will be for Bristol simply because I really like the girl......

But - to be fair - Bristol is not the best dancer on the show, but she has the best attitude by far.

The show is not now and never was "just" about the best dancer. It is also about who people want to see advance for whatever reason. Some people just like to root for the underdog. Some will vote based on who has improved the most, or who has the best attitude! Both Jennifer and Brandy have lots of entertainment and dance experience (Jennifer's father is a famous dancer/choreographer). Brandy has wanted it too much - always talking about how badly she wants to win the trophy. Jennifer, as good as she is, plays up the "poor me" thing about her injuries too much. I think attitude can play against them sometimes. And Maks with his "tude" towards the judges hasn't helped. Bristol has been a trooper and had a positive attitude from day one. She is also one of the most improved dancers for a total amateur in the show's history.

The producer of DWTS puts the Bristol "controversy" in proper perspective

I posted this...yesterday.

Friday, November 19, 2010 7:39:34 PM · 55 of 77

"It will go from being a dancing competition to a popularity competition..."

It stopped being a "dancing competition" when the show's producers opened it up for viewer voting.

If they want it to be a dance competition, it shouldn't be "Dancing with the STARS", it should be "Dancing with professional dancers".

The "STAR" element of the show automatically makes it not so much about the technique of the dance, but turns it into a "popularity" and "fan base" program. The judges are just there to lend a sense of "officialdom" to the contest and try and sway the voting audience with their knowledge of dancing and SNIDE remarks.

They are like today's Federal judges, judging against the will of the people.

I'm guessing the mere fact that Bristol is on the show (given Sarah's popularity) and this controversy has started, that the show will have record-breaking (for them) ratings this year.

If it all backfires on the producers and the show is cancelled, then blame the producers for poor planning - not Bristol...or Sarah.

So as you can see, we are in agreement.
