Today is my ten year anniversary at Free Republic.
What a decade it's been, I didn't even have an internet connection when I first joined, and I was using the connection at work.
Over the years I learned that if you need information on ANY subject, you will find someone here who can tell you what you need to know or find it for you. The diversity and depth of knowledge of the people here never ceases to amaze me.
I remember being at a hotel one morning many years ago, and when I was getting breakfast in the lobby, the news was talking about how some internet site exposed Dan Rather and his bogus National Guard document. I remember thinking "That HAS to be Free Republic.", and I was correct of course.
When I want the LATEST news, this is where I come.
I remember reading the live thread of the space shuttle landing, and read in real time as people here began to realize that something was terribly wrong. I’ll never forget that thread.
So here’s a big thank you to JR and all my fellow Freepers. There is no better group of people on the internet.
