And look who's coming back.
The Los Angeles Dodgers made some great news Sunday when 82-year-old TV broadcaster Vin Scully announced he plans to return for the 2011 season.
Phew.
The team's biggest asset aside from Dodger Stadium, Scully has been broadcasting games for 61 seasons. Fans of his can exhale now that Scully plans to make it 62.

Truely a pleasure growing up listening to Vin Scully and Chick Hearn.
Thanks for the memories guys.
Vin Scully is the top baseball broadcaster. He is so smooth and interesting to listen to. A master!
None better.
But I do like this young Buck.
Considering what “going away” would probably entail at this point, I’m in no hurry.
IT come to a time in LA history that we going miss Vin Scully he is last of old school broadcaster

I read somewheres once that he can actually broadcast a whole game without ever saying the word “I”..OOTOH..there’s the clown who does the Yankees broadcasts..
Thats great to hear. He’s a treasure to listen and I dont even like the Dodgers.
We used to have a President who could do that.
AWESOME NEWS. Vinnie is a legend here in Los Angeles..he is the last remaining one here since we lost Chicky many years ago. Keep on doing what you do best Vinnie!!
I recall the early days at Dodger Stadium in LA when fans would bring their radios so they could listen to Scully’s play by play at the game. He is the best.
Baseball bores me, but Vin’s voice is so comforting as I have heard it my entire life. Amazing. Congrats.
After Kirk Gibsons’ Home Run in the 88 World Series:
“You know, I said it once before, a few days ago, that Kirk Gibson was not the Most Valuable Player; that the Most Valuable Player for the Dodgers was Tinkerbell. But, tonight, I think Tinkerbell backed off for Kirk Gibson. And, look at Eckersleyshocked to his toes!”
Audio of Scully anouncing the 9th inning of Koufax's perfect game
What’s really amazing is that I’ve watched games on TV where there’s THREE announcers that can’t do the job that Vin Scully can. He is without a doubt the greatest announcer of ALL TIME. How many of us could announce an entire game alone, let alone at the age of 82? I couldn’t.
Clown? which one?
The chick who creamed herself when Roid Boy announced he was coming back or Smug Michael Kay?
((((Hugs)))) I am ELATED!!!!!
