It’s hard to say.....on onE hand he is being pushed by “Establishment Republicans” to run and he said things about “illegal immigrations” that gives some pause.....everything else I’m not sure - so I don’t have enough information!

I like all the McPalin talk.
The more her followers talk about her, the sooner they’ll get her out of their system.
McPalin will be passé by 2012.

I haven’t paid attention much to his political philosophy. If he wants to be President someday, it would help him to run this time around. Get name recognition, maybe he’d be picked for VP. Republicans don’t nominate unknowns, so he wouldn’t win in 2012.

Huckabee was an unknown 4 years ago, Romney almost as much. They ran, did pretty well, didn’t win, and now they’re front runners.

I would prefer a non-establishment Republican ! I seen some videos of Reagan’s speeches and he ridicules the elitists and comes out and says that we should be allowed to make our own decisions instead of letting a bunch of bureaucrats make them for us from Washington DC. If the Republicans are going to score, they need to drive home the point that the elitists are not the solution, they are the problem or along that line !

Probably not, but one certainly can see that he could learn some lessons on silence from Cal.

Today I heard a Reagan piece where he mocked the “intellectual elite”....very few today would say something like that, the times that we live in is screaming for a grassroots guy or girl that is speaking the people’s talk.

I don’t see how in the world Daniels could be the GOP nominee.

Isn’t he tied in to Lugar? I don’t see the appeal.

Quoting Calvin Coolidge:

” You lose!”

*****************************

Although Coolidge was known to be a skilled and effective public speaker, in private he was a man of few words and was therefore commonly referred to as “Silent Cal.” A possibly apocryphal story has it that Dorothy Parker, seated next to him at a dinner, said to him, “Mr. Coolidge, I’ve made a bet against a fellow who said it was impossible to get more than two words out of you.” His famous reply: “You lose.”[82] It was also Parker who, upon learning that Coolidge had died, reportedly remarked, “How can they tell?”[83] Alice Roosevelt Longworth supposedly once commented that, “He looks as if he’d been weaned on a pickle.”[84] Coolidge often seemed uncomfortable among fashionable Washington society; when asked why he continued to attend so many of their dinner parties, he replied, “Got to eat somewhere.”[85]

Mitch Daniels:

Mitchell Elias “Mitch” Daniels, Jr. (born April 7, 1949) is the 49th and current Governor of the U.S. state of Indiana. A Republican, he began his four-year term as Indiana’s 49th Governor on January 10, 2005 and was elected to his second term by an 18-point margin on November 4, 2008. Previously he was the Director of the Office of Management and Budget under George W. Bush and also worked for Eli Lilly and Company. He is cited as a rising star within the Republican party and has approval ratings hovering near 70%.[Wikipedia]

Daniels is reputed also to be a man of few words.

I just don’t think anyone close to Richard Lugar should be the nominee. It’s like nominating a closet Democrat.

Unfortunately, the Republican Party as a whole can’t stand anyone who is not of “The Establishment”...

Lugar has already endorsed Daniels as his choice for the 2012 GOP nominee. That tells me all I need to know about Daniels.
