There's a hole in this possible earthquake pattern

As UC Davis physicist and geologist John Rundle ponders the map of recent California earthquakes, he sees visions of a doughnut even Homer J. Simpson wouldn't like.

The doughnut is formed by pinpointing the recent quakes near Eureka, Mexicali and Palm Springs.

Seismologists call the possible pattern a Mogi doughnut. It's the outgrowth of a concept, developed in Japan, which holds that earthquakes sometimes occur in a circular pattern over decades —building up to one very large quake in the doughnut hole. Rundle and his colleagues believe that the recent quakes, combined with larger seismic events including the 1989 Loma Prieta and 1994 Northridge temblors, could be precursors to a far larger rupture.

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqscanv/FaultMaps/116-33.html

A year or several ago there was an earthquake swarm at the southern edge of the Salton Sea.
Salton Sea being a rift zone.
So, the swarms being seen here on this map are related to the swarms on the rift zone.

I was just shoot in the bull here on our perch
A relaxing beautiful day on the Oregon Coast/Bay.

I have been feeling like we are going to have a quake off the Oregon coast today (lil one 4.6).

KV laughed and told me to stop talking Coast to Coast Kooky talk.

So I have to “really play it up” with him now.

Havin’ a lil fun.

We have been watching this sailboat as the tide comes in.
The boat is on the sandbar.
CG came out yesterday and offered the sailor a lift to shore but he said naw he’ll wait.
Low tide we looked out to see clammers around his boat(near) so he may have decided to walk to shore as we don’t see him on the boat and the tide is here.

The Rogue Ales Brewery is right there on shore so that could be where he decided to go for the day (there is a couple hotels there too)

So just to tease KV with kooky EQ predictions I put the time of 4:21pm or 11:14pm.

He’s LHAO at me.

Had a wonderful lunch of fresh farm lemon cukes/tomatoes with Smoked Mozzerella;asst. olives(condiments) and Iced Herb Peach tea.

Rib Eye with butter Hazelnut topping and a snip of Chocolate for dessert.

Been a good day having a real meal (been awhile).

Kinda of euphoric with the bay perch and great food with a lite work duty day to boot. Ahhh.

This, coupled with the recent earthquake in Maryland forms a new earthquake line named “Bush's Fault”. It explains everything.

Map would have been nice in the article. Maybe they assume the only people that care are California residents and know of what they speak.
If a really big one let loose now, could we even pay (i would not want to pay anything ever, people make their own choice where to live)for all the damages? The state is in no shape to rebuild anything.
