It is good to criticize fanaticism, esp. BLIND fanaticism, but be equally weary of the fanatical Palin haters that parade around this site. Regardless of how some mask their true wishes for Palin in "constructive critic" guise, there are plenty of writers and thinkers out there who offer honest critique of Palin while having her and our country's best interests in mind and therefore want her to come out WINNING.
Most of the FR trolls who post the latest Palin hit-piece of the day could care less for Palin and take joy everytime she supposedly "falls." To these types, Palin is an enemy that must be destroyed for GOOD, not a leader with clear weaknesses to address.
There is something viscerally powerful about Palin that goes beyond her nonconformist style of operation and beyond her gender (even women such as Michele Bachmann and Nikki Haley do not attract the level of reactionary responses that Palin does.)
It's fascinating to ponder how and why God is using her and her family to invoke such captivating responses from people across the world. The hate, envy, and ultimately FEAR she is met with by some corners of society is truly remarkable...and some of the people most threatened by her continual rise to prominence happen to be members of this site.
You say this as if it’s a bad thing. What is it about Sarah that you don’t like?
What constitutes healthy disagreement? Why don’t you tell me?
I believe I do engage in healthy disagreement.
I would be flamed if I thought she had a piece of spinich in her teeth.
You folks always act reasonable, yet you aren’t. You just like to claim it so you can take the high road.
What if Palin does not run. Are you staying home in a hissy and leave Obozo at the helm?
I have been an active critic of many of the people who might run. I don’t reserve my criticism just for Palin.
I know it sounds shallow. But she makes me skin crawl to even listen to her. Her squeeling voice and rants aren’t press material. God bless republicans.
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN THE PAST FEW YEARS? Have you seen the impact she's made, not just in shaping the political landscape, but the cultural impact she's mad as well? All the "inane" statements that you Palin bashers make fun of--things like "death panels," do you know how much of an impact they had on shaping public discourse?
She's more than just someone who wants to criticize and do an overhaul of the failed Bush-era and Obama-Marx policies. Any ole Republican will say those things. And quite frankly, I don't plan on voting for Palin thinking she actually indeed will "fix" everything. No one person can do that.
Palin is transformational, not becuase she's a woman! Though that's part of it don't get me wrong...but I assure you: Meg Whitman, Condi Rice, Fiorina, Jan Brewer, or Kay Bailey Hutchison, or even as I said earlier, Bachmann or Haley, would NEVER have stirred up as much fear and reactionary responses as Palin has...There is something about Palin that is definitely harder to articulate...
Part of it may be a certain kind of charisma that all the other women just simply lack.
But it's more than that.
There's a big-mindedness and depth to Palin--something in the gut, that makes her more of a global and historical mover and shaker than your average politico. There's something about Palin, which strikes a chord with people because she touches on things that are so core and fundamental.
Maybe because she exudes a faith in God that is not your average kind of "Sunday church attendance" sort of faith, she has a sense of mission and calling that far exceeds the mere political ambitions of most normal contenders.
As I said, it's hard to explain. But what she stands for, what she says, why she scares people --> it's "visceral" not just political.
As we all know Palin has the “it” few can lay claim to. She is a powerhouse and unafraid of what the end results might be because she believes sincerely in what she states, and that the people need to hear it.
Would it be those of the REP. Party dare to be so bold and call a spade a spade? They are lacking greatly in that respect when considering all that the opponents are doing. If there was a time in our history where it counts to take a stand ...this is it...Palin stands!
Hopefully you don’t vote according to how your skin crawls. It’s people such as this who voted for Obama.
Palin stands for McCain's vision for America (by her own admission).
McCain says he has no problems with the progressive-Marxist "views and philosophy" of the Democratic Party.
Palin says that conservative Arizona Republicans should "send the maverick [McCain] back to the Senate."
And that's why Palin scares the **** out of me.
"Senator McCain and I agree on the big picture,
where it is that the country needs to go."
FMR. GOV. SARAH PALIN, RINO-AK., 28 MAR. 2010
"I think the Democratic Party is a fine party, and I have
no problems with it, in their views and their philosophy."
U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, RINO-AZ., 02 APR. 2004
"I support [McCain's] position on immigration."
FMR. GOV. SARAH PALIN, RINO-AK., 27 MAR. 2010
"In the long term, if you alienate the Hispanics,
youll pay a heavy price. By the way,
I think the fence is least effective.
But Ill build the G****mned fence if they want it!"
U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, RINO-AZ., FEB. 2007
"[McCain] is part of the Tea Party movement."
FMR. GOV. SARAH PALIN, RINO-AK., 28 MAR. 2010
"I have to tell you, [Obama] is a decent person, a person that you
do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States."
U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, RINO-AZ., 10 OCT. 2008
Wow!
What on earth did the poster do? Let's take the poster's first paragraph.
Apparently the poster is saying that fanaticism both for and against Palin is not a good thing. What in the name of common sense is wrong with that??
To compare Republican and/or conservative posters on an online chatboard to the appalling APPARATUS of the Democrats' professional politics of personal destruction is, IMNSHO, simply irrational.
Are you saying that McCain isn't a RINO?
No, but Sarah can destroy herself.
Actually, wait...too late. She already has.
Because the poster was sounding like a fanatic. There is more than one paragraph.
Geesh
She can’t support McAmnesty and claim to be a Conservative. The deception many of the OP(formerly the GOP) elite use is they are for securing the borders but intentionally exclude mentioning enforcing current immigration by deporting illegal aliens as if the two are mutually exclusive of each other or deporting cannot take place concurrently with securing the borders.
Here’s that death panel that so many snickered about when Palin brought it up:
” She cant support McAmnesty and claim to be a Conservative. The deception many of the OP(formerly the GOP) elite use is they are for securing the borders but intentionally exclude mentioning enforcing current immigration by deporting illegal aliens as if the two are mutually exclusive of each other or deporting cannot take place concurrently with securing the borders. “
THE SCAM
Good post!
