Senate Passes, Pelosi Reject `Doc Fix`

The Senate passed a bill which would fund the 21% increase of physician Medicare reimbursement on Friday, but House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi rejected the bill, making it unlikely to pass. Republicans have wanted the so-called `doc fix` to be funded through cutting other spending. Friday`s bill took this approach.

However, Pelosi called it a `great disappointment` and saw `no reason to pass` it.

The previous `doc fix` bill ran out June 1st, but the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has held off paying doctors the lower amount. On Friday, CMS ordered that the payments be made at the lower amount.

The `doc fix` was originally part of a larger bill that extended unemployment benefits and has had a variety of other spending and tax measures included.

Both Houses of Congress and both parties are struggling to finance their various priorities and wish lists in the face of the $13 trillion debt and ballooning deficit.

If you recall, Obama said he intended to fund 40% of the healthcare reform bill out of Medicare eductions. He cut reimbursements to docs who are bailing out of acceptance of Medicare reimbursement by the droves. This bill sought to prevent the meltdown of Medicare reimbursed healthcare infrastructure. This Baby Boomer might have to wait a while to see the "left-over" docs. Thanks, Obama, Pelosi, and Reid for caring about me.

Our founding fathers disagreed with that notion. They recognized the people have the final say as to how they will be governed. Their sentiment can be found in the Declaration of Independence per the passage:

"That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."

Oh really? What do you call the growing grassroots tea party movement consisting of millions of people who have already imposed significant influence in primaries nationwide? They can flip the bird to us but we are in the process of breaking their fingers.

It is an incremental process that has already started. Twenty states are suing the federal government over unconstitutional Obamacare. Several states are considering legislation to protect their citizens against Obamacare. Arizona passed their own version of strict immigration laws in defiance of the federal government for failing to uphold federal immigration laws. More states are talking of doing the same. These are signals the people will not tolerate an out of control, tyrannical government. The next step, should all legal means fail, will be to do just as our founding fathers prescribed in the Declaration Independence.

Agree. I really do agree about the Tea Parties, and the process, but IMO there isn’t time for the process with these anus orifices. They have to be stopped NOW.

You're missing the point on two counts. It is unrealistic to presume a movement can halt proceedings in D.C. on a moments notice. The socialists have come to this point over many decades. They didn't suddenly turn on a light switch yesterday by deciding they will takeover tomorrow. Reversing that trend will take time as well. The tea party movement has garnered considerable momentum only since February of 2009. Additionally, the lawsuits are not the end game. They are indicative people are moving towards the point at which they will alter or abolish the government as spelled out in the Declaration of Independence if all legal avenues are exhausted and do not stop this unconstitutional government.

Your points are well understood, not missed at all. MY point is crimes perpetrated by the Left ARE IN PROGRESS, and we are going through the lengthy processes as prescribed while permanent damage is being caused to our Nation, our standing in the World, and the standing of our allies as they face enemies that would otherwise be reluctant to display aggression were we not weakened as we are by the criminals in our own government.

The Leftists as I have posted often to past threads have been building to this for a considerable time. It is a well planned sting operation I have pointed out multiple times, so please don’t attempt a condescending naivity play here. I’ve read your posts for years, and you are better than that.

We can fight back without becoming criminals ourselves, but we must initiate some form of passive resistance, or something along the lines of sandbagging this Administration such as it is NOW. The other processes can catch up later.

I remember a fellow named Marty. He was a major procrastinator. Found many a reason to NOT get the job done, but his boss finally realized that Marty was a procrastinator, and left a note on his desk one day that read “Get It Done NOW Marty”. The “or else” wasn’t necessary. So I say a lot to those that are reluctant to exercise their vested authority, and make the moves necessary to “get it done now Marty”.

I may be retired, but still have the attitude of getting the job done. I see a job that needs to be done, but don’t have the expertise to do it myself. There are those out there that do have that expertise, but it isn’t getting done NOW.

It’s the NOW that has to be addressed.
