I’m not sure I catch the intent of your pictures.
Provide some narrative please.
(What/Why/When)
Do the kids in the remake fight the invaders with their iPods and Twitter?
Interesting... As if we need a movie to know that the Chinese Government treats its people like slaves? That we need a movie to tell us that China is in control of a large portion of our economy, and has threatened a financial war a few years back (which it seems we are in the middle of right now)? As if we need a movie to know how many political prisoners the ChiComs execute on a daily basis, or how many elderly they rip from their homes to build new skyscrapers without paying the owners?
As if we need a movie to know that Communism is EVIL??? Oh, wait... Maybe we do need a movie for that last one because it does seem the younger generations are clueless — however, I don’t think Red Dawn - the remake, is going to do the job...
It figures that the Communists in Beijing would hate a movie like this. We know nothing of the sort would ever make it past the censors in THEIR government. At least folks here in America KNOW it’s a STORY - ENTERTAINMENT, and nothing more...
Also, I don’t see how those posters — unless they are made from fans who’ve caught clips of the movie already — say anything about the movie itself!
What I want to know is WHY MGM decided to remake this film, now? The original was just fine as it was.
That said:
GO WOLVERINES!!! KICK SOME COMMIE BUTT!
Is Scientology a banned religion/cult in China?
Would be a fitting response by the Chinese authorities, someone should suggest this solution.
Hey China - here’s a thought - stop inspiring the filmmakers, rather than condemn the filmmakers after you’ve inpired them.
Who gets to play the part of the Mayor from the first movie who colludes with the enemy once they take over? Could be a good role for Barry, the Manchurian Candidate....
It irks me but for different reasons.

Who needs the PLA when you have Obamao?
The moans of protest might be even louder, but having the occupying forces be a mixed bag of nationalities in blue UN helmets under the UN flag would have made much better (and more relevant) sense. Portraying a Nancy Pelosi look alike as the quisling president of a “reorganized” USA would also strike a little to close to home for some but could lead to the satisfying final scene of Faux Nancy dangling from a well watered tree.
I remember seeing the original Red Dawn in a little theater in Edgartown on Martha’s Vinyard.
I was whooping it up while the rest of the meager audience sat in stunned silence. Good times.
Charlie Sheen was in Red Dawn. The guy’s been around forever.
The Russians are sure to also have a fit about this, similar to how they had a fit about MW2 and World in Conflict, and the original Red Dawn in 1984.
Now, its release has be indefinitely postponed due to "financial problems."
Too bad. I was looking forward to this movie.
